Ohh but actually my girlfriend just like those simple design kind one round diamond in middle of the ring. If that is the case can get immed rite no need to custom design?

Actually what are the customs desig that people usually do?

They have some classic setting available which is faster as mould is. Already done.

Custom design really depend. Some like to have diamond added. Some like to have initial added. Check out JP Facebook for their setting.

Some ppl like other company brand of setting so they will have to custom it.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Cannot... Still have to adjust ring size, and set the diamond on the ring. Even simple generic (tiffany style) design you can choose the number of prongs you want. Aiya it's only roughly 2 to 4 weeks wait... Chillax!

Has anyone heard of Titanium rings? I think it will be a solid material better than platinum or white gold. But I hardly heard anyone mention it.

usually you find titanium in mass market production costume jewelry.

it's not easy to shape titanium like gold or platinum, so there's very limited designs to go about titanium

Titanium looks duller than white gold and platinum

Titanium is easier to maintain though, but the resale value of platinum and gold is definitely higher

resizing is also a big issue with titanium:s12:

Hi All,

An update for those who are interested, the diamond I posted has updated with an ASET scope image here: GIA Graded Round Diamond - 0.64 Carat, E Color, VVS2 Clarity (#6107834479) in Diamonds | Excel Diamonds

Had a looksy on the diamond :)

I'm not sure if you noticed, it's not a Triple Excellent though. Polish is Very Good. I find "Excellent" to be a very wide range... So I'd suggest going for a minimum Triple Excellent..

In the ASET scope,
- 3 and 10 o'clock have dugged out girdles.
- 4 and 5 o'clock arrows are not aligned.
- Massive bezel light leakages.
- I'm seeing some green lines/patches in the middle area of the diamond. I don't think they're suppose to be there.

You should ask for the Hearts and Arrows scope to see the Hearts too. It's very likely that this is not a True Hearts and Arrows diamond from the ASET picture..

If pricing is your main concern, why don't you go for a lower clarity? It would be eye clean too as long as you choose them properly. Personally, I would go for a slightly lower color and clarity but a better quality diamond. :)

Hi Thanks for the reply. I'm not getting this but just posted this as a follow up to the prev post. Had an appointment with Jann last Saturday and was shown 2 stones(0.63 F VS1 and 0.61 E VS1) within my budget but decided to wait for a while to see if there's new stock coming that are more suitable for me (wanted to go down on clarity but increase carat to maxout my budget). And yesterday got an email for Jann saying the 2 diamond i saw was sold after I left! I still have a month or so to wait for a suitable 1 from JP if not I might need to look for alternative. So an advice for bro who goes to JP appointment, if found something suitable, it'll be better if grab it asap.

just some info, those who don't know why polish is important, it's basically polish lines/marks/blemishes that are left from the cutting process, which can affect a diamond's luster/brilliance. This is not included in the "clarity" grading so seperate issue altogether. :s12:

Thanks for the info, I did some reading about it also and though titanium is practical, it does not look pretty. Most of the designs I saw were not shiny more like a "frosted" surface.

Shopping for a ring quite headache, besides the diamond also have to think about the metal and design. Was contemplating a while back whether 4 double claw prongs for the main diamond(cushion) will be better than 4 single prongs. But in the end decide to stick with the single ones.

I also saw some people using platinum for the prongs and white gold for the band. If we are just using platinum for the prongs, it won't be that much expensive right?

doubt so:s12: although that over time would be able to see the difference in color between the white gold and platinum

I just went there and saw a ring I like with I think vvs2 and triple excellent carat is 0.57

I wonder if there are other points to consider before getting the ring

Did you see the diamond through all the scopes? and calculate the HCA score?
