I just went there and saw a ring I like with I think vvs2 and triple excellent carat is 0.57

I wonder if there are other points to consider before getting the ring

GSS usually only sell lousy quality diamonds which they want to clear stock.

Sales - based on majority are meant for old stock / overstocked products. Rarely in-demand products are for sale even in GSS. Diamond on sale, just need to check carefully.

Finally settled! I got my proposal ring from Ling jewellery few weeks ago, and finally just did the proposal. My gf really liked it very much. The whole process has been good, and it is not possible without the help from Jannpaul and Ling. Truly appreciated!

My advise is to try look around and read up on the basics of a diamond first.. their session can be quite intensive and alot of things to absorb.. so it'll be probably easier if you know the basic 4Cs first..

Eugene_Hunk, you should shop around retail shops (LeeHwa, SooKee, etc.) first.
Take a personal look at their premium diamond series (Destinees, Brilliant Rose, etc.), then check their price range. They will probably explain the basic 4C for you too. If you have some time, make appointment with Vivodiamond too. Haha.
Probably JP will be your last stop, hence when you are at JannPaul, you can straight away do some compare and contrast on quality and pricing. Enjoy the process, and you will start to like diamond more than your gf eventually. Lol.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! Will read up more about the basics first and will make Jann Paul my last stop. I also noticed that there are many different diamond cuts or shapes like the square/cushion/oval shapes.. Do most of you guys end up getting a round one or something different? and how would you know whether to get her a round or another shape? drop hints??
