Just giving you a rough estimate based on GoodOldGold pricing. Should be around 5k.

To most people, they cannot see the difference between a D IF and a G VS2 when mounted on a ring, unless you compare it side-by-side with a higher colour diamond. But, you will need to make sure that the inclusions are not in the bad areas.

GoodOldGold is using USD currency

I see the trend that a lot of people in singapore like to chase colour and clarity and sacrificing carat size

while

in western countries there, people like to chase carat size and sacrificing colour and clarity (as long as eye clean)

seems in Singapore, people's friends like to walk around carrying 20x magnifier :s22:

yeh i noticed that as well when I was reading GoG and pricescope forums. Their priorities are totally opposite of us.

maybe to us, whiter diamonds signifies purity? or is it just elitism born in us, everything must score "A"! haha

Hmm I guess Americans tend to be bigger sized, so it's quite a norm for them to must have a bigger carat size, so no choice but to sacrifice.

Whereas us Asians, etc. China, Taiwan, Japan and Malaysia would all have about the same requirements like us :D:s12:

I think with a bigger carat you will need to have better colour and clarity, whereas with a relatively smaller carat can afford worse colour and clarity cos its harder to spot?

I read somewhere that the min for colour is G and clarity is VS2

frankly speaking, I can't differentiate betweeen G,H,I even J when see it from the top (table)

I can only differentiate when see it from bottom (pavilion)

some say you can compensate the colour with light fluoresence but for me I prefer no fluorosence

Just came back from JP and paid deposit for my engagement ring :) Really got excited and spent more than 3 hours there.

I confirmed the appointment last week and met David today. If you don't do customization (i.e. request for 3D design), they can get it ready within a month or so. If you need them to customize/show you design in 3D design - it takes up to 2-3 months. Hope it helps :)

thankss! with your info i can roughly plan my timeline. just afraid their business is too good have to wait for 4 to 6 months. haha.

having said so, some people feel that diamond too big doesn't look nice on slim fingers or small hands. what's your opinion??

that picture, is extremely inaccurate :s12: photo colors depends on the lighting and camera settings it's a world of a difference with your own eyes

I can tell a big difference le.. when I compare my diamond next to my colleagues ring, I could easily see the difference even though it was a 2 color diff..

did you see after your friend tell you the spec or before ?

I could see before I knew the specs.. Mine was a G color and I could see the yellowness of an I color next to mine. Plus mine was a bigger diamond (1ct) diamond than hers (0.7ct).. I find that the yellowness can be more easily seen in bigger diamonds too.

I guess some people are more sensitive to colour. I have heard of some who can differentiate D from an E from a set diamond. Perhaps, it also depends on the lighting condition that it is seen.
