I requested JP to use the opening track because the house music and elevator music was cheese (to me.)

Hi there,
I read through most of the posts here and eventually went to JP yday to buy my ring. Found wat I wanted and ordered from them. Since I benefited lots from here, tot of sharing my price here future diamond buyers for comparison and gauging.
Diamond*: BRELLIA(*Loose*Diamond*) 0.586 F VVS2 AGS CERT. $4400.
Not sure is this a fair price or is the size suitable for a proposal ring. Chose the brellia cut cos I like its not so common shape, comparing to the round cut. But bcoz of the brellia, there are limited stocks to choose from though i wanted to compare against something bigger like 0.6+ carat.
Hope the missus will love it.

One question guys, are proposal/engagement ring worn on the left generally?
I understand in many countries, it is customary that the ring is worn on left hand, 4th finger. But I was wondering if any ladies/girls is wearing is on the right hand instead?

A Big Thank You Statement
I am a happy customer of JannPaul and would like to take this opportunity to say a big Thank You to Jann and Arron who have helped in my quest of getting my proposal ring.
Basically like many of you, i wanted to propose to my girlfriend and have read through the proposal ring thread to make sure i got enough information and advise on hand.
As the ring would be worn by her, i would want to make sure that she get to choose the ring that she loves, thus i bring her along for the ring selection and for her to know more about the diamond she is going to get. (like why go for a better cut and color instead of a bigger size for the same price.)
We visited a few retailer outlets, like soo kee, lee hwa, larry and decided to drop by JP after reading about all the good feedbacks in this thread.
Although i brought her along to choose the ring, i want to reserve some elements of surprise ie, not letting her know which shop i am getting from, what size of diamond i would get for her and when is the collection date.
I sent an email to JP to arrange for an appointment and to state all my requirements. So for the first visit to all the shops, my intention is to get to know which ring setting she likes and what is her ring size.
For our first visit, Arron attended to us and he gave us a detailed lesson on what to look out for in a diamond, the different Cs, the hearts and arrows, the different cuts, the different scopes, etc.
I managed to get her ring size and we choose a setting she loves. I also find out during the visit that she seems to prefer Solasfera diamond for the sparkles over Super Ideal Cut.
With that, i went back another day to get her diamond. This time round, Arron went for leave and i requested for Jann to attend to me.
For my proposal, i would be inviting some of our close friends and family members along to witness this special event and to share our joy with them. I decided to come out with a proposal video to make sure i would not like to flick out and suddenly does not remember what to say. So i intend to make the video do all the talking whereas i would only go on my knees and pop the magic question at the end of the video.
Jann is a friendly and patient person and is very willing to facilitate to my request of making the video. He also very kindly agreed to be inside the video acting as the sale person attending to us.
So i pulled along a close friend to be my videographer and another to act as my girlfriend and re-enact the part of us going into House of Hung to select her ring.

Overall, i am really pleased the service i have gotten from JannPaul. Hence i am now taking this effort to type out such a long account of my experience i have had with them.
I find them to be a friendly group of people who is very customer oriented and who is very willing to try to accomodate to our requests.
I would recommend all of you who is looking to get a proposal ring for your girlfriend to drop by JannPaul to take a look.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say a Big Thank You to my good friend and to create some business opportunities for him.
We discuss together how i want the video to be and work together to come out with the video. He is very detailed and have a lot of good ideas on how to make the video more lively and interesting. He also gives a lot of good pointers on how to link all the different events together to make the whole video appears right.
I am generally a very strict and stern-faced person and he constantly remind me to smile and relax in the video.
I am also a bit hestitating about my poor pronunciation and tenses in my speech. He is very encouraging and cheer me on, reminding me that the video is meant for my girlfriend and so long as she understands what i want to bring across and feels my effort in coming out with the video, that is what really matters. All these encouraging words really helps especially when you are camera shy.
He is also very patient and does not mind NGing a scene again and again and again. Each time, he would cheer me on and watch the clip with me and give pointers on what i can do to make the shot nicer and better.
He is a full time photographer by profession and have been in the photography line for 10 years already. He also does freelance wedding assignments.

- 2 will give me the "Done" sms when everyone is here already.
- I would give him an sms when Yt and me heads up.
- Once we open the door, everyone will go "SURPRISE".
- 9 will immediately pull Yt's hand, lead her to the sofa and get her seated facing the television.
- 7 will play the video once Yt and I sit down.
- Once the video ends, I will PROPOSE to Yt to marry me
- Everyone will clap their hands when she say "YES".
- I will present the Ring follow by the Rose Bouquet. (6 will help to pass me the Bouquet)
- Yt and I will then pop the Champagne together. (6 will help to pass me the Champagne - with the metal foil and safety seal removed. 3 will help with the Champagne preparation)
- Yt and I will then pour out the Champagne. (3 will help to set up the wine glasses to facilitate our pouring. 1 and 9 will help to distribute the filled glasses to everyone and remind them not to drink first but wait for the toast.)
- When everyone get their glass, we will raise their glass, "Cheers" and Drink Together.
- There will be an interview session by 7 after things have settle down a bit. (Please all kindly help by not shying away from the camera and when 7 approach you, just go over and speak your thoughts.)
- After that will be Free and Easy all the way

4) In order to Capture a Real Expression of watching the Video, i've informed 7 not to show the Video beforehand. 5) There is an event over at Marina Bay Sands on that day and they might be a bit particular about security and the number of people inside the room. Thus, your entry into the room will be by batches. Since most of you are coming in at different timing, i do not foresee a problem with that. Please kindly co-operate with (2 @ --------) who will facilitate your entry into the room.

yea, i made some queries to JP via email, they are prompt and professional in their replies, very gd service. highly recommended. for a special setting only $1200 very cheap.

Not worth at all to consider FAIR cut. I have so far found FAIR cut diamond from Taka Jewellery. I doubt other retail shops do carry cut grade as low as FAIR.
