If not in a hurry, you should visit as many shops as you can to compare :)

I second Grizz.P that you should visit as many as possible. The more you visit the better deal you are getting after you have compared all the quality and prices.

thanks i onlyy went to love n co recently, read through quite a few pages seems like JP is v recommended

Even thought JannPaul is the most recommended jeweller, you should not just limit yourself to one jeweller as your choice. Approach more jewellers to have more options if you are not in hurry.

@ snegg, to your question on the places to go to with $4k budget.

Previously I have posted two accounts of my journey.

1) Researching on diamonds
2) My experience with local "shopping malls" stores eq SK, Lee Hwa etc
3) My decision, appointment reason why I chose at JannPaul
4) My purchase at a budget of $4k
5) My collection (Pending)

As mentioned by others, don't restrict yourself to one store which most of us keep mentioning which is JannPaul. JannPaul was my personal choice due to reason I gave in post. It is to your benefit to scout around without commiting anything. Research online and post here to gain more knowledge. Once you have think through, decide on the store that should have your hard earn money.

It was a funny and awesome journey so far for myself. I hope you have the same.

Cheers.

For me, I think thick to thin band looks nicer.. highlights the middle diamond more.

Among these 4, 1.003 H VS1 which is WF ACA Super Ideal H&A looks better to me.

But have you seen any H color diamond before? Most of the time H color diamond looks slightly yellowish especially when the diamond is getting bigger like more than 1ct. I would advise to go for at least G unless you are comfortable with H that exhibit slight yellow tinge.

Secondly always try to avoid round carat weight like 1ct. if you happen to ever chip your diamond, and it falls in the 0.99 category, you'd lose a significant amount of value to your diamond. Try to get those carat size with 1.02ct and above for a better invenstment.

I doubt you should worry anything about the purchase with WF as they are one of most reputable jewellers from US who is well known with their ACA Super Ideal H&A diamonds. Just remember to check with them about the insurance coverage when they ship over the diamond to Singapore. Normally FedEx will pay the GST (7%) on your behalf upon clearance at Singapore Custom. Meaning to you, you will only pay back the GST togther with some admin charge once you receive the invoice from FedEx which is normally one week after you receive the diamond.

If you are looking for Super Ideal H&A diamond, why not pay a visit to JannPaul. JP is one of the most reputable jewellers in Singapore who only carry Super Ideal H&A and other branded modified round and cusion like Solasfera & Brellia. Just compare the price they are offering with WF. Most importantly you can veiw the diamond in person before the purchase and it would save you a lot of hassle compare to online purchase.

Thanks for your thoughts. Your point about it chipping and losing value sounds logical. Perhaps I will review my criteria and research more.

JP does sound tempting, think I will have a busy weekend ahead.

Hi Experts,

Have been quoted by JP, are these prices reasonable?

Both Super Ideal, exclude setting.
0.58 E VS2 $4,200
0.62 F VS2 $4,900

USD2960 x 1.26 (USD to SGD) x 1.07 (GST) = SGD3990

Hi Experts,

Jann Paul quoted me 0.62 VS2 F colour thriple Excellent @ 4,900SGD, and I think he quoted the same to many others netizens who posted here...

Setting at 550SGD... you think it is worth it?

Have you guys heard of POH KIM JEWELLERY TRADING?

The owner/sales quoted me even cheaper than JP...(better specs somemore!)

0.65, E colour, GIA cert, Thriple Excellence, VS2 @ $3,450 excluding setting !

0.6 VS1, E Colour, thriple Excellence @ $3,600 excluding setting!!!!

Issit reliable compared to JANN PAUL??? JP quoted much higher man...

You should not compare the price of a Super Ideal to a common GIA 3EX. If you are just looking for common GIA 3EX then i would say you have approached the wrong jewellers.

I guess JP should have given you a very comprehensive tuturial about diamonds during your visit. Aren't you impressed with their Super Ideal H&A?
