Hey guanguan, i got mine 0.63ct F VS1 triple ex superideal at 5.6k, from JannPaul. Very happy with them. Still waiting for the collection of the ring :)

so JP quote 0.62 ct, F,VS2 triple ex super ideal at 4.9k without setting is worth it?

hmmm

You should not compare the price of a Super Ideal to a common GIA 3EX. If you are just looking for common GIA 3EX then i would say you have approached the wrong jewellers.

I guess JP should have given you a very comprehensive tuturial about diamonds during your visit. Aren't you impressed with their Super Ideal H&A?

Des....are you affliated to JP or? very marketing n promoting their products...

I considered buying online before.. You can save a few hundred more than buying from a retailer. Don't forget, you're saving on the services too.
JP have free ring resizing and repolishings which can come handy in the future too.. Especially if you don't know her ring size.
There's also upgrade policies to consider if you plan to upgrade your ring in the future.

IMO, I don't dare to pull the trigger without seeing the diamond first.. Diamond so small but yet so expensive.. Hai...

If you did follow my previous post then you will know i did not purchase my wife's ring from JP. I have been visiting quite a number of jewellers while looking for an upgrade on her existing engagement ring. Finally i didn't get it from JP because :

1. The price is expansive to me even it does impressed me.

2. I have seen many diamonds from all these jewellers i have visited. Overall, i personally feel that GIA Triple Excellent can be further divided into three different group : Super Ideal H&A, Ideal H&A & Common GIA 3EX. From the ASET scope images analysis, I noticed almost all the Common GIA Triple Excellent do exhibit some extent of light leakages in the diamond especially those 3EX steep and deep cut. As for the Ideal H&A when compare to Super Ideal, some of the Ideal H&A are so close to Super Ideal H&A until I can't easily spot the difference under the ASET scope. Then i realised that some Ideal H&A is just a minor miss of Super Ideal H&A where its performance can be as good as Super Ideal. I finally found this tyoe of Ideal H&A from one of the jewellers and this is my own "Super Ideal". Of course i was paying for a much lower price compared to the one quoted by JP.

For those who has budget concern but do not want to compromise on Cut quality i would advise visiting more jewellers who does provide ASET scopes for viewing and i believe you will be able to get your own "Super Ideal " as well. But for those who just want peace of mind and price is not a concern then i would recommend JP.

You do pay for quality diamonds.. If you're talking about tailoring shirts or buying laptops, an "Ideal" one would be what I'd go for since I'll have to keep buying it every few years. When it comes to a diamond ring for my proposal, I want it to be perfect without regrets. It sticks with you for the rest of your life. I believe and I hope that it'll be the only one time that I'm buying this diamond ring. My gf deserves the best :)

Lovis is a sub branch of Taka jewelry. It's the same as Taka diamonds in another name. You're getting Taka quality diamonds and Taka prices.

Jann paul pricing is reasonable to me if you are looking for super ideal, solasfera and cushion brellia diamonds. They are the highest cut quality out in the market.

First do your research and know what kind of diamonds you are looking for because you want to compare apples with apples. If they are different cut standards, you can't compare the prices like that. It's like saying a Proton car is cheaper than a BMW.

Thanks for the update that Lovis is a sub branch of Taka jewelry. No wonder they have a lot of "Good" & "Fair" Cut diamond in their list.

If you don't need any after services, you can save by buying online.
It'll be very troublesome if something goes wrong with the ring.. You need to bao shipping and insurance yourself again and can get double taxed? very leh-chey if need to return.

Some diamonds can be milky or brownish which is part of their property content. The certificate might not show these kind of characteristics and you can only know by seeing the diamond yourself. These are part of the risk that you are saving on.

Btw, whiteflash does not factor in bad bezel light leakages in their ACA range.

Proportions looks good. I don't think Larry has the Aset scopes though.. If its a super ideal cut standard, it usually shouldn't exceed 7k for sure..

Should be about there if its a super ideal cut. If its a normal triple Excellent, price should be lower.

Quoted 4900sgd, without setting

Specs: 0.62ct, F, VS2, thriple E...
Depth 61.6%
Term as super ideal?

Setting 550 from JP quite ex?

In total :5450...
Worth it ?

JP also mentioned they can bring in ideal cut on customer request, but due to they can't physically view the diamond first as they are not located in singapore and can't view it under the three scopes Aset, ideal and hearts and arrow..
On top if that, I have to put a deposit of confirmation that I want the diamond with JP if I really wanted it then they will ship over to singapore. In fact i am buying Based on the GIA cert, specs and HCA caln (HCA has its limitation too) without viewing them.. Of course it will be priced lower than the "super ideal" that was quoted to me.

Question is, will this ideal cut be labelled as super ideal or perform the similar performance as the super ideal after check with scope is done here?

That's a drop ship method.. that's how online sites like bluenile, whiteflash, etc are selling their diamonds. The diamond performance will definitely not be as good as a Super ideal cut.. That's probably why the price is lower?
