quite cheap... how come..?

Hi,
Original price is about 14.5k.
Was actually looking at destinee series and was browsing around for setting and chances upon this.

Was thinking quite a steal from price after discount as lee hwa is having 50% for some of their pieces.

So am I right to say its quite worth for a 0.75 ct ?

Color : F
Clarity : VS1
Cut :?
Polish : ?
Symmetry : ?
Certificate : AGI? Is it IGI?
Flourescence : None? Faint? Medium or Strong?

We should not estimate a diamond price by just looking at Carat, Clarity and Color only.

Other factors like CUT (which is the most important), Polish, Symmetry, Fluorescence and Lab Certification has to be known as well.

Normally retail shop won't give huge discount on Top Performance diamond like Destinee.

I believe it is not even a common GIA 3EX.

Color : F color (AGI F may just equivalent to GIA G color)

Clarity : VS1 (AGI VS1 may just equivalent to GIA VS2)

Cut : round brilliant (Round Brilliant refers to 57 facets round cut - They should have the cut grade from EXcellent, Very Good, Good......)
Polish : " very good " if thats the rating
Symmetry : " very good " if thats the rating
Certificate : AGI (Personally, I've never heard of AGI. I would advise stick to the trusted labs like GIA & AGS)
Flourescence : None
Cert issued on Jan 2013

I mean the Top Performer like their Destinee wont be offered at a great discount. Only those low quality diamond will have huge discount like 50% - 70&. Even they have been discounted at 50% it is still very expansive compared to private jewellers cause the retail shop always mark up their price extremely high.

I remembered one of our bros here was quoted about 6k for one GIA 0.74ct F VS1 3EX with very nice ASET images. I would say this price is much much better compared to this AGI 0.75ct.

AGI is not as recognized as GIA. Generally, other certificates besides the GIA and AGS can be graded differently and are not so strict. So their prices are much lower because of their lower standards.

If it's standard GIA triple Exc, it's a fair price.
If it's AGI triple Exc, it's a high price.
If it's AGI triple Very good, it's a very overpriced.

why is LH carrying AGI?

Agi is abit more used in europe, where diamonds are pretty much on the poorer cut/color/clarity level and people focus on carat sizes. Im pretty sure its even less strict than even EGL or IGI :s12:

which means 1-3 grades lower on the C's except carat

You can check out the estimated price using the Washington Diamond - Diamond Price Calculator (Just Google).

GIA 0.75 F VS1 3VG for $5770 is overpriced.

What happened to Des126, he/she have been very helpful.
I had conversation with Des126 on PM, never he insisted nor pushed a specific shop when I was looking for my Proposal Ring...

But anyways, MODS have done their research on this before banning Des126. Not sure, if Des126's account is another case of "account buying".

Latest & Final Update on My Journey
Well, I was supposed to collect the ring in about a week time from today but Casey (JannPaul) informed last week that it was ready. Kept to his promise and even had it ready before the date we agreed upon.

Came down alone. All exicited. Had two cigs before I went in. Sadly Casey wasn't around but I saw whom I think is Aaron attending to a gentleman. Maybe the customer is here reading this. Haha. Anyway, Casey wasn't around so a lady helped me.

The box with JannPaul name and then the ring box itself. Open it...fantastico! I was given the ring, the box and surprisingly being my first time one of the scope. Another lady took the ring to allow me to confirm that the laser inscription is the same as written on the GIA.

Paid everything by cash (2% less) and was smiling like a donkey home. In terms of service, I would give JP 5/5. Its perhaps due to the person as Casey do have a long background in the industry based on what I read and knows what he is talking about.

Imagine sitting with a customer for 2 hours. Being polite and patient. Answering every questions. And not knowing if the customer will commit or not. Now try doing that everyday. I can't do that. This is the reason why some jewellers that you go are quick and try to push their products out quickly to you.

Sad to say such service attitude is long gone from our shores. Its very rare to see a business conduct itself in such a manner. Maybe I am a noob. =P

Well, thats it. All that is left is the proposal date. Shan't post it here. LOL. Oh and I don't think I can post pictures. So if anyone wants to see what they get on their collection date, whatapps me ya.

Disclaimer: I am not in any way connected to Jp by friendship or business. None are my cousins. My aunt. My uncle. My Ah Gong or Ah Mah. Just a first time buyer that went through a rather interesting, exciting and educational journey with the above company. All I done in my previous posts are just sharing my journey with you guys as what others have done.

Cheers.
