No problem, none taken :)
I understand where you are coming from too..

There several useful websites online.
You can try Hearts & Arrows
I started from there first.. it's easier to read and understand.
I remember some bros here buying the scopes before.. can try borrowing from them.
I wonder if you can bring the diamond to a store that have the scopes.. they might even let you use their equipment for your own diamond

it is here from bedposthalo, which is a really good guide ;-)

Hi guys, I've visited JP twice and was so far quite pleased with their service and expertise. However, like smellytoi, I'm a bit skeptical after reading all the praises on this forum. Sometimes, too much of a good thing can result in an opposite effect :s22:

Before I finally give in to the $500 deposit, would like to ask if you guys can recommend another jeweller that can be comparable to JP ? Just thought that it would be best that I do a little more homework first. I won't consider online websites cos I need to see the physical thing before committing to a 4 figure sum.

Separate note, I just realised this is my 10th year in HWZ. Since the days of PC DIY, checking out hardware clinic comparing who's got the better 3Dmark scores to EDMW time wasting. Then onto homemakers to get BTO advice. Now I've secured a flat, have to read up on diamonds for engagement liao.

I guess there's a time for everything in life hehe

Hi Bro,

There are different criteria, amongst all that takes the top position is.. you, your decision.

Service can be one, during the time that you are looking for the diamond, if you walk-in on a store and a smile was given unto you that's part of the service, the assistance given to you, the answers given to you is part of the service, how confident are you that your diamond is as good as you wanted right after you walk out of that door is part of the service, even the free tea or water is part of the service, I think most store or jeweller if not all in SG are offering that, but the level of service be it Good, Better, Best depends on your personal criteria. And this forum, collating of the personal experience of most of us, can give you a guide but as you say " too much of a good thing can result in an opposite effect ".

2nd probably is price, we want the value to our money... period and though this one is a really tough question, only few jewellers fits in. You wanted to see all the possibilities of your diamond before buying and not all jeweller can offer that. We have lovis, canary, white dwarf, vivo, Jp, lee hwa, love & co, goldheart, meyson, tiffany, cartier, bulgari and a lot more to compare and analyse before you decide.

3rd is I guess, after service. How well you are taking cared off after your purchase, how willing the jeweller can extend a hand if in case you need any concerning the item that you have purchased, all the perk and freebies that each and every jeweller have their own.

4th though not a major concern, is buy back. Most of the shops are offering that but there are clauses that you must be aware of ;-)

Hi Bro,

Helping you on this one, though only 2000 is the specs, no 4c preference and no ring preference ;-)

Thanks a lot for your help. Pmed you.

Just hope to ask 2 questions (did not want to ask in pm as hope to add knowledge to this forum)

1) saw that jp is the super hot shop in hwz. Was thinking aloud that I should not buy from them with a 2k budget because what I will get is a 0.2carat as I find their stone very very nice but steep for its price per carat
2) went through many pages and no one talked about bluenile. Are they not recommended? Any reason for that?
3) recently my wife saw 2 diamond in sk jewellery. One is 0.7 carat and one is 0.4carat. The 0.4 carat look huge compared to the 0.7carat and the salesgirl said is the ring setting (the prong?). So which is the ring setting that can make the diamond look biggest?
3)
