Thanks for the suggestion. Any idea how many carat I can get at JP for super ideal cut? Budget of $ 3900 for the diamond.

Base on the previous purchases of our Bro's here, it should .5Xct below, off course it depends on Color and Clarity, G VS2 as the lowest ;-)

how much does the 1.01ct costs? does JP provide u the scope analysis prior to you making ur purchase?

any one know what the difference between using whitegold or platinium?

Hi, dependent on the 4C but for the one I got G/VS2 it will be between 13-14K excluding the ring. Yes they are very patient with me in explaining the cut and the scope and of course their experience.

Frankly I thought their prices are fair and their service is great.

Looks comprehensive but I find their service not good. Knowledge also not up to standard. But their rings on display seem cheap enough.

But don't feel good buying from them.

I'm keen in this diamond from bluenile. I like blue fluorescence diamonds. I'm thinking if I compare 2 diamonds side by side, I may be able to tell the difference between a super ideal and an ideal 3ex GIA diamond. But if I have only 1 diamond, then a grade lower than super ideal is ok for me I guess.

I can't post links so here are the specs

Carat weight: 0.86
Color grade: G
Clarity grade: VVS2 - pinpoint
Cut grade: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: Strong Blue
Depth: 61.8
Table: 57
Crown Angle: 34.5
Pavilion Angle: 40.8
Star Facets: 50
Lower Girdle Facet: 80
HCA: 1.4

Bluenile is unable to provide scope pictures :(

If this diamond is brilliant on it's own, I will be quite happy with it as it's 5.7k for a 0.86 whereas a 0.72 F color VS2 diamond will cost 7.2k from JP, that is a savings of 1.5k

I asked JannPaul to source for blue flor diamonds and guess what. He found this exact 0.86 diamond (same GIA number) and recommend it to me :)

Price difference between Bluenile and JannPaul is not that great also. Buying from bluenile cost $6143 inclusive of gst and JP at $6300. We've ordered the diamond.

More than a week is too short (10days???) I think, but it is worth a try. Inquire to JP if they can cater you, Try online seller as well, read through the thread for the online seller as some of the Bro's here received their ring a week after, AND as much as possible filter what you are going to buy.

Due to time constraints you may want to start shop to shop comparison In one day then decide the next day. It will be tough though to look for a Quality Diamond on a Really Good Price in a short period of time and some more you are also studying or learning while purchasing.

If your day is almost over, try to get the ring from a shop that offers you a buyback, or can give you an upgrade later on, but be familiar with their condition. I am assuming, that later on when you realized it is too late ;-), so you still have an option to change or upgrade.

Shops in Singapore can surely cater you with their ready made rings, but it will come with a price.

Thanks for you help. I just emailed JP and they replied with a lot of information. Probably have an appointment soon.

Thanks again.

That's good to know, it is actually the same diamond.

I'm not sure but there exist a "mutual" understanding amongst diamond merchants ;-) that they can easily source from one another.

I am just wondering though, when you agreed to this one without seeing the scope images and all that, what will happen if the diamond did not meet your expectations? are you able to return it? who will cover for that? Would it be JP since you bought it from them?

I received the hearts and arrows pictures but they are very small, very badly taken (diamond not with JP) and I can't post pictures as I don't have enough posts :slant:

have to pay $1k deposit to bring in diamond and if I don't like it after viewing, can return it and pay only $300 for shipping. I'm pretty positive that I will like the diamond as it's confirmed that it's not milky or oily looking. When I was in JP, I can barely tell the difference between a ideal and super ideal diamond and solasfera. I have to scrutinize very very very long and carefully then can tell the difference. BUT i can tell if a diamond color is yellow immediately :p Saw a K color diamond and it's sooo yellow. can pay off as fancy yellow color diamond.

I'm happy to found a diamond at a good price. My bf give me a 10k budget but I very heartpain to spend 10k on a diamond ring which may potentially end up locked up in a cupboard.

When presented with the 3, Ideal-Super Ideal-Solasfera, all you will see are bling and shine :)

Wow that's a pretty nice budget, didn't thought of adding some more to have a 1ct stone?

It's a big no!!! Don't let the cupboard benefit a wonderful ring :) love it, wear it, enjoy it, flaunt it (heheheehe)!!!

Hi all, I'm looking to get a diamond ring.. colour wise: D/E; clarity: VVS1/2; cut: super ideal / triple excellent. Looking at either cushion brellia or round shape..

Undecided on carat size, but budget is around $7k-10k.. judging from experience, can anybody roughly gauge the size of diamond to fit my budget? Haha

I'm happy with 0.86 I find it's quite big too :) although it's every girl's dream to own at least one 1 carat diamond. I choose practicality over indulgence. The 3k saved can be used for hiring a very good actual day wedding photographer and videographer.
