Thanks, yes, I plan to go down to JP when I'm back. I think I will get a better idea of what we want there. Sometimes it looks like a gimmick overseas when they factor in already the 21% tax back. That makes the diamonds there really much more expensive than Singapore! I saw in another shop for 1.01C , G colour and VS1 or SI1 going for ~23k euros.

I think overseas purchase can be caused by impulse for the tax savings.. but when you look at the nett price and comparison, it can still cost higher than buying in SG.. Lucky you got do your comparison first!

Thanks a lot for feedback bro! I guess I just want to validate my purchase but I'm really satisfied anyhow! :)

No problem! =:p

Im wondering if what solasfera caret size I can get from JP with 4k without the setting?

Seems that solasfera cost 10-15% more than the their super ideal cut.
Im thinking of getting at least 0.5x caret either the solasfera or super ideal.

Lee hua destinee

0.4 carat, f color, vvs2 clarity, bought at 4000+.

It only has in-house cert. The salesperson said that for destinee series, only 0.5 and above have ags cert. Was he bluffing me? Or is it industry common practice?

My colleague got a 0.3 carat from another local jeweler. It has Gia cert and can be looked up on Internet.

Confused and feeling bad ...

Hi guys,

This is my first time, since all bro recommend JP and after visiting more than 20 Jewellery shops, I have my last stop at JP and booked my stone 0.53 carat G VS1 GIA. JP quoted me 3750 without setting. Is this worth it?

Just got my scope images yesterday. Notice that white leakage in ASET scope analysis is quite obvious. According to JP, it is classic girdle means to be there to create contrast patterning to make the diamond more eye catching. Is it true? Anything wrong in the images? Appreciate any comment!

There are many reason's Bro why they are using in-house cert, first is the cost of having it certified, 2nd is they wanted to have their own color standard, 3rd,4th, 5th it's all about the pricing ;-)

For example, F VVS2 could have been a lower grade if sent for certification, I am not saying ALL but most would fall atleast 1 color lower or 1 clarity lower.

About the size of the diamond for certification, I think starting .20ct can be certified. It is just the matter of the expenses of having it certified against the price of the diamond, for example .20ct is 300$ in the market then certification is 75$, the price would then be 375$, it will become too expensive for a .20ct diamond.

Since it is their own Brand, probably the sales person is saying the truth, that on their Brand, only .50ct and above are the ones with Certificate.

But you are also correct that when you go outside of the store, there would be other reseller that doesn't carry any specific brand but only Certified Diamonds. Brand+Certification = Much Expensive diamond ;-)

You can take a look at their Solasfera or get a Super Ideal with a lesser depth. If not wrong, it is caused by the depth of 61.9%.

I bought it mainly because my girlfriend likes the design. Personally I wanted to but Tiffany, although it is more expensive.

A bit disapointed ... The small box sucks ... Bottom wood is glued and already fell off.

I have seen 0.3cts in AGS before. Maybe yours was a different cut like a higher facet diamond? That's why the price is high. 4k can get a 0.4cts Solasfera which is something like the destinee royale but with higher facets

Average price for the particular Diamond Specification.

Hi,

I had recently bought a diamond ring with the specification below.

0.61 Ct.
E Color
VVS2
Triple Excellent Cut. (As shown in the GIA Cert)

Together with the Diamond plus ring setting, I was charged 4K.

I am wonder if its the price is okay?

Once you already bought it, dont think about the price anymore. Wont do you any good.
