Hey thanks man... But what do you think of the other aspects of the diamond... I am considering getting a diamond from here because the prices seem cheaper...

I think the cushion will look nicer on that design. Matches with the teardrop shape side diamonds :)

Your ring setting is like those vintage designs. Lots of side diamonds with intricate detailing. Personally, I think the cushion brellia will look nicer in this kind of design. The cushion shape is a vintage shape itself and will complement with your vintage setting. The round solasfera can look good too.. but if you're trying to pull of the intricate vintage ring feel, the cushion brellia will emphasize it more.

Plus I think squarish diamonds looks good with side diamonds settings.

That's just my 2 cents ;)

Thanks for the comments guys. I placed a deposit for the cushion Brellia last weekend already :D

I asked some of her close friends and they preferred the Brellia on that design too. They were fascinated by the cushion hearts and arrows effect.. lol

How did you guys get your girlfriend's ring size? Just by estimation?

I agree with bro Lurker_13.. If the feather is at the girdle, it's more prone to chipping.. especially if it is an SI1.. I will try to go for at least a VS2 to be safe.. or if you want a SI1, get one without a feather to be safe. If the diamond chips, that's it liao..

The proportions of the diamond is good.. but without the scopes, these numbers can be meaningless.

I guess that's why Bluenile diamonds are cheaper for this reason. They do diamond drop ship without the diamond passing through their hands. One of the bros here managed to get a diamond on Bluenile from JP before that was cheaper. Have you tried checking with them?

Thanks! :) Pmed you.

Proposal ring is usually worn on the left hand 4th finger right? Most of her rings she has is for her middle finger. I used one of her 4th finger ring but on right hand to estimate.. but they told me 4th finger left hand and 4th finger right hand can be different size. So I wonder how you guys can get the correct size in first try. Don't want to waste the 2 free re-sizing JP gives

Hey guys, thanks for your advice regarding the previous diamond. I agree with you that i think it is quite risky buying from bluenile but i think the prices are very competitive. I have emailed JP and I will be considering an appointment with them subsequently, for me personally, i just enjoy getting the most bang for my buck so i do some research myself.

What about this diamond (it costs like 6k sgd) for 0.811 carat which is i think quite hard to beat.

The HCA performance is excellent in all respects with a very good for its spread.

$3k is a very decent budget for proposal ring. $2k can get Super Ideal Cut ring already.

HCA of diamond is good. Having Very good for spread is normal.
Though HCA is just one of the many aspects to analyze the diamond.

This is the creator of the HCA tool explaining how people should use it.
It should only reject bad diamonds and must be complemented with the Ideal scope to for final selection.

The HCA has many limitations. It ignores 40 out of the total 57 facets. In other words, it only checks for 30% of the diamond surface area. And this 30% is only based on average numbers. It's not reliable at all if you look at these stats.

To fully analyze the diamond, you need the scopes. You can use the scopes and leave out the HCA tool. But you can't use the HCA tool and leave out the scopes.

Here's a good read :)
A Consumers Guide to the HCA - GoodOldGold.com

Btw, the diamond you linked is not a Triple Exc.. None triple Exc rock will be cheaper.

:s13: Maybe I'm not looking at the correct thing. The hearts look good. I mean the V shape below each hearts. Example the 12 o'clock one, right side is longer than the left.:s11:

To have a perfectly symmetrical hearts n arrows, will be very rare and you probably will have to pay a very high price for it. :D

I don't think it is possible to have it 100% symmetrical. For all the diamonds, the outer most edge are all different too.

It might also be due to camera angle since its so magnified.

Just paid deposit to JP. Need advise !

Hi guys. Can tell you guys are very experienced so hope you can tell me about my diamond.

I got from JP a 0.51ct Super Ideal Cut, F VS1, HCA 0.7 for $4,050 exclu setting.

Is it a good or at least ok deal?

Saw one of the bros here got his 0.47 ct Super ideal cut vvs2 F for only 3.3k

$750 difference like a lot. But I also read here that once after 0.5 ct, price will jump by quite a bit. Why is that so?

Thanks
