How long did you wait for your ring? I was told to wait for 2 mths which I think it took too long. Most reviews waited for 1 mth only.

Mine took almost about 3 months altogether.. 1.5 month for the 3d renders.. I did many changes and took my time to reply them.. the time lag was mainly due to me. After I settled on the 3d design, about 7 weeks to craft.. I think this depends on how intricate your design is.

Thxs for the information. What is 3D rendering about?

Someone asked that on Paul's FB page before
https://www.facebook.com/paul.hung.779?fref=ts

This was his answer

that centre middle portion of the diamond is simply the bottom, culet section of the diamond reflecting back, the reflection of the underside of the table. A double reflection. when you have a pavilion average angle of 40.768 and above, it's receiving light at a 45 degree angle which appears Red on the Aset. If you have a pavilion angle of below 40.768, it's receiving light from under 45 degrees whereby it appears green. Sometimes, when some angles are a mix of above and under, you get a mix of green and red there is entirely no issue whether this area is red, green or mixed because there is no visual difference at all

And in case your wondering if this centre part is suppose to be a perfect circle.

sometimes when culet is slightly off centre/table off centre this may occur, there may be other variants like another facet slightly off which may cause this. However, the way the diamond picture is taken can greatly affect this as well, imagine a slight tilt, we're talking like 0.1 degrees, may cause this to happen. A diamond must be exactly 90 degree perpendicular stood up to have an accurate shot. What this means is that the diamond has to stand on it's culet; if the hole where the culet is sitting on not 100% well shaped and the diamond sits in it, there's bound to be some sort of tilt. This would not affect most important issues like the major sections of light return and contrast in the aset, but the centre where you are talking about it commonly slightly distorted. If the diamond is distorted however, you can usually find it in the hearts imaging. (the hearts is much more accurate because the diamond sits flat on top of it's table, ensuring a very close to 90 degree perpendicular shot.

Wa. Thanks! U have a photo of ur ring too? Share share!!

Forgot to request for ring photos when I ordered. They said I can bring back the ring to them for 1 week to take photos.. but still haven't got to doing it yet..

so if i were to use their design there wouldn be a 3d rendering?

If you use their design, what's the point of the 3d render when the physical design is in front of you? lol

Placed a deposit for the BRELLIA :D It was a tough choice. Compared both side by side… The Solasfera is 1.58ct next to the Brellia 1.41ct. When its next to each other, I can tell the Solasfera is abit bigger. But when I see each diamond without comparing or sit them further apart, can’t tell much difference. Color and Clarity wise (1 grade diff), I can’t see any difference. Price wise, Brellia was cheaper. Haha

Here’s a photo of them both.

They allowed me to take some videos of the diamond too.
The more I see the Brellia, the more I like the cushion shape. It has an amazing shine.. even better in real life. I could see all the sparkles flaring up. There are crisp arrow patterning. I saw other cushion diamonds without hearts and arrows that looks bad man..

Overall, Solasfera flares up more than the Brellia because of the more facets. But the sparkles are smaller individually la. It’s practically like a disco ball. You can see the 10 arrows pattern distinctly but much thinner. The sparkles are like super multiplied all over the diamond. If that makes sense. Haha.

This is a video of them both together. Overall, I like the Brellia more so I went for it. For those who are in the same dilemma as me, this might be useful :)

My next decision making is the ring design.. I think this is going to be harder than choosing the diamond.
They showed me trays of ring designs to choose from. I wanted something more special and asked to customize. That’s where Jann came in to give his expertise. I didn’t have any design in mind, but he just asked me what features I like and some samples. From there, he said he will come up with something for me. I guess it’s easier if you know what you want.. but I didn’t.. lol. Have to go home to think of what I want first.

For timeline, if you choose their in-house designs, it takes 4 weeks to make. For customize design, they said 6-8 weeks. This excludes the 3d render that will take 1-2 weeks. Guys who plan to customize.. you better start early..

Hey guys.

First of all I'd like to thank everyone here for all your helpful posts. Ive spent the last week reading this thread and I must say Ive learnt so much.

I just went down to Jannpaul with my fiancee and was served by a nice chap by the name of Lionel.

We finally settled on the a ring with the following specs:-

Diamond: Brellia 0.423 carat / D colour / VVS2

Setting: Customized 18k white gold

Damage: 3.2k

We have not received the scopes yet but can you guys give your opinion whether we got a good deal? Thanks all!

Wah that's very good deal indeed. Means your rock only $2K+. Mine is double your cost and it's only 0.1x bigger.

Yeah man, I did my sums too and realised the same thing! I paid $8k+ for a 0.721 E VVS1.. plus setting > $9k..

Guess the price spikes up once it crosses a certain carat weight..

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah I guess so because JP mentioned the next level up, 0.5+ Brellia would set me back 5k plus. Not sure if that's inclusive of setting or not.

By the way, we have submitted a couple of pics we found through google images for the ring design.

For those who opted for ring customization, mind sharing websites you go to for inspiration and references? Thanks guys.

Thanks guys.

JP doesnt have GSS. I asked if the price can be discounted and was told they quote customers their lowest possible price for uniformity.

But the chap who served me got the price from his boss (Im guessing Jann or Paul).
