Hi guys...few days back finally went to JP after reading this thread and was served by Sam. Very friendly and professional yet candid guy. Learned alot during the lesson. Answered all our questions :D

We then decided to place our deposit on a 0.41 F VS1 diamond as my gf does not want a diamond that is too big =:p

well was quoted 3.2k for the diamond including a simple setting. Waiting for Sam to email me the scope images.

you said it :)
usually when you ask for feedback from frds/colleague, out of the 4Cs they don't even ask about the other 3, only 1 C, and that is Carat, from there they determine whether you overpay.

Got the analyzing scopes picture of the diamonds I saw but didn't have time to post.
Any comments on which type is better? Out of all, I am sure I like Solasfera or Octavia because most special and rare in asia..I checked and know USA very popular already.

My slow hands slow legs though...both sold off already.. their diamonds moves so fast! More importantly need to know which is better..

Any comments?

So far I like Octavia more but don't know if should get round diamond for a start first or not... firstly because I liek the squarish shape...2nd because it just look different.... how is the analyzing scope? is the Octavia good and sparkly?

Looks like a much better version of the Asscher cut. Compared to the normal Asscher cut Aset image below, it is more defined and better light return. Wonder how it will look like in person :s22:

thanks draculav! Yes, it's a super ideal cut and there is an inclusion at the very centre of the diamond after looking through the scope (like a black dot but looks ok otherwise). Symmetrical and non-distorted hearts and arrows.

I am also considering the solasfera at $4,800 but it's only 0.53 carat. Really not sure which to get cause solasfera is really shiny compared to the ideal cut but in the end, decided to go with the bigger carat first since I guess my girl would prefer something bigger?

If it is eye clean itll be ok.. since you can't see it anyway without a magnifying loupe. Just avoid those with feathers on the girdle.

Solasfera is nice.. see which one you prioritize more.. :)

How long will JP provide the image scope once we paid for the deposit?
The image is upon request or JP will provide the image to all of their customers?

The price with the Solasfera is around the same..

Ya, I read up about asscher cut online as well. Asscher has quite bad light return.. maybe thats why its not very popular. Really got to see the octavia in person. Will be receiving some octavia videos from jp..

0.4c / G / IF / triple EX / HCA 1.6

GIA 2166137768

1.7k for stone alone, worthy?

The score is over 1.4 though.. Did you see it with the scopes?
Can try lowering the clarity and improve the cut. IF and VVS also cannot see the diff
