Its an in-house ring maybe? How can we tell that the ring is indeed white gold 18 K, is there any certification for the ring?

Anyone here knows Tay Kim Seng (Poh Kim jewellery)? I got his contact from my friend. He is more on wholesaler of the diamond instead of store. Any opinion? The person is quite helpful.

If it's really 18k gold, it should have a "750" chop on the ring.
Did you check the diamond with the scopes for light leakages?

why is your setting only half-priced @ 250?

Hmm..i did check using the Heart and Arrow scope..looks good to me, i can see the heart and arrow clearly..dont think i check the light leakage? To check the light, i should use the ASET scope? thanks.

Hi guys,

I am kinda new on this diamond thingy..

I plan to buy a diamond ring - 0.71 carat, E, vs1, excellent cut (GIA report - 2186631960). The person quoted me for SGD5750 for the diamond and SGD250 for the setting - classic solitaire tiffany white gold 18K..do you think its a good buy?

Should i go for vvs or vs for the clarity? Understand that it wont make any difference to the naked eyes..is that true?

In terms of pricing, you should go to several shops/sellers with similar specs. Another way of checking whether the price is reasonable is check it on james allen or blue nile.

For clarity, VVS would require a microscope. For VS, would probably need a very trained naked eye to see it.

Your jeweller should be able to show u the inclusions under magnification.

GIA specs look good. HCA score of 1.0 is good too. The rest will need to see scope images.

The diamond cert should have the type and location of the inclusions.

From what I see the arrows inside is not so symmetrical although I am not a pro in this.
Any help will be appreciated

Are those inclusions or dirt at 12, 1 and 6 o'clock?

Depends. The VVS2 I viewed has quite clear inclusions under the scope. But VS1 don't have. So I guess luck also plays a part whether your diamond has inclusion or not.

Ermm... if the diamond is a VS or VVS should not have to worry about inclusions near the girdle.

it looks almost like a round. they mentioned that it is shinier than a super ideal, but can beat solasfera or not?
