it looks almost like a round. they mentioned that it is shinier than a super ideal, but can beat solasfera or not? :s13:

Dunno le.. solasfera suppose to be more scintillating.. super ideal suppose to be more fiery.. maybe octagon is both?? :s13:

They should try to sell it next to the casino.. this diamond got so many 88888 :s13:

I see. That's why I can only find the type of inclusion in the cert but not the location?
If it's not visible under the scope for vsvvs2, then is there any other way where i can find out where the inclusions are located? just want to make sure that it's not near the girdle as i read that it may result in the chipping of the diamond upon impact.

Ask your jeweller to show u the inclusions under magnification. They should have those handheld magnifier where you have to hold very close to your eyes. Can't rem what those are called though.

Hi guys, i just got quoted for this from JP:

0.41, F, VS2, Super Ideal Cut for $2750.

The setting that i wanted (18k gold w/o side diamonds) was quoted for an additional $850. They say because its new so they are charging higher than the normal $550.

Is this over priced or i can get a better deal elsewhere? Really know nuts about this. haha.

Appreciate the help :s13:

Are those inclusions or dirt at 12, 1 and 6 o'clock?

Those are the reflection from the inclusion(cloud I think?) but I was assured that it will not affect the brilliance of the Diamond.

Anyway a quick review for those considering getting a ring.

My SO & I was actually deciding between a 0.7 from another shop and a 0.6 Solasfera with similar budget range. I went to both shops quite a number of times as we were unable to decide which one to buy but the great service from Casey of Jannpaul swing us towards their side and of course my So decided on getting the Solasfera in the end after understanding the differences and the sparkles from different light angles really makes a different.

Casey has a lot of knowledge about the diamonds and is not pushy about the sales part which put us at ease easily. Although it was not our first time visit, he still patiently took out all the different scopes and explain to us again.

The whole buying experience was great and the sense of humor from Casey really makes it more light hearted. Although we were quite skeptical at first as we experience very pushy sales from other outlets.

Now we are just waiting for it to be ready and I am glad my So really love it!
Will definitely recommend my friends!

Diamond type: Solasfera

Size does matter....

If budget is a constraint, i would say that you should compromise (clarity, cut, color, carat). In this order...

Meaning to say, Carat (AKA Size) should be the most important.... its useless to get a VVS1, IF, D, 0.4 over a VS2, Good, F, 0.9 ... as the size itself is usually the biggest point of comparisons between girls.

Dont be fooled by the 'Ideal Cut' or Clarity stuff they tell you... whilst its true that the luster of the diamond would be affected, its not usually that obvious to the naked eye, when compared to lets say a small (0.4) vs a big diamond (0.9).

This is just my 2 cents.

Yes this I agree
Size does matter
The colors n clarity no need go so white n so vvs standard. Angmoh goes till L n beyond too. See like warm diamonds or not n theirs can b ideal cut too
If the eyes can't spot the inclusion n it doesn't affect much of the fire etc then is okay
Plus how many times will get into those jewelry shop lights
Got a high color and under the shop light v obvious is yellow by the side. Top view looks white n the cut is ideal 0 x 3 ... N at home n under sun can't see the exact color because of the fluroscene (no milky). Maybe the expert can see but end of the day size really matters. What people notice is the size then the sparkles etc. N unless got those similar situation in those light stimulation, else the cuts cannot be put to good use too? Naked eyes can't see much diff unless cut is fair etc?

Btw anyone been to canary diamonds? Eclarity?
How's their prices compared to standard shops like Lee Hwa, Goldheart etc
Thanks

Nice hoot! You cant go wrong with the Solasfera. I bought a Solasfera too but not as big as yours. Mines only 0.3ct :o But it does stand out alot.. I compared it to my sis in law ring which is a 0.5ct. The solasfera totally outshined her diamond.. funny thing is it almost look the same size even though its suppose to be smaller.. think it was because of the cut? When I saw it next to each other, can tell the 0.5 was abit bigger, but it wasnt obvious.. the size difference was very minor.. when I compared them about 1meter apart, they looked the same size already but the Solasfera looked way better. My SO is still very happy with her ring and likes to show it off :s13:

I am interested in getting a 0.5crt Solasfera but i notice in the AGS cert, cloud, pinpoint and feather are indicated. Will it be a concern for diamond?

Inclusions are normal, unless you are talking about FL/ IF diamonds.
The 'severity' of the inclusions will depend on the clarity scale whether it is a VVS/VS/SI/I and the locations of these inclusions.

You should not have to worry too much abt VVS/VS diamonds. HTH :)
