Confirmed a diamond with JP today. Chose their Solasfera diamond :) Originally wanted their Octagon diamond but they didn't have the specs we wanted. Couldn't afford to wait for their next shipment too.. flat is coming soon :s13: The Solasfera is very nice too. We were sold when they showed us the diamond outside the store under the sun. haha. It was very very brilliant.

Picked out a 0.61 G VS1 with a twist side diamond setting. Just nice they have a ready set ring on their display in the same design but in a different diamond cut. Diamond is the same size I'm getting. Can't really see in the photo but the prongs are heart shape.

Looks very big on my gf's hand :D
Good thing about small fingers is the diamond look bigger.. haha. FYI, her ring finger size is 7.

Looks more like a 0.8ct.. haha. Lucky your gf finger is small.. no need to buy so big :s13:

bro, i went in today and had a nice chat with Ranjit.

Very good introduction course for noobs like me.

All i have so far is the gia report card number.

the one that he recommended to me was a 0.37 carat, E, VS1 but quoted me 2.6K.

is it overpriced?

and how did you get the nice jan paul diamond photos link that you shared?

thanks

pop by Janpaul today and was serviced by Jerome.. friendly guy and patient explaining to me.. (my session took 3 hours!) was indecisive about everything.. despite already reading up some material online about diamonds, Jerome still gave me a good walkthrough which was helpful seeing the diamonds in person (versus watching videos)

originally decided upon a 0.59c F VS1 super ideal cut.. but after much more dilly-dallying, Jerome went to scout for other diamonds to see if he could satisfy my indecisiveness, ended up going for 0.58c E VS1 super ideal which looks visually similar

placed a deposit for the diamond as I still have yet to decide on the setting... :)

Possible to get a .5x-.6x from JP for around $5k max with setting? Don't need solasfera or brellia. Colour G/H and VS2/VS1 are fine. Just the Ideal/Super Ideal cut and the carat matter in this case.

It's not possible to see the scope images from Bluenile right?

Edit: forgot to include budget.

Hey Bros,

Gotten a proposal ring from JannPaul

I was recommended by my colleague to look for Amy..
I entered the shop like a diamond idiot haha... The introduction given by her was very good.. Never knew getting a diamond had so much things to look out for.

Initially I had a lot of hesitations as I've never bought any diamonds in my life before.. My cousin (who went down with me) who recently bought his wedding ring also look lost when she started explaining all the different kind of cuts and qualities that a diamond can have. She also advises me on what kind of rings ladies normally look for.

After a 2 hours session with her, I've finally made my choice on a 0.35 carat E VS1 Diamond with setting at round 2.5k-ish which was within my budget all thanks to Amy's recommendation. Overall felt my time was well spent and would certainly recommend Amy as your sales co-ordinator.

Oh, didn't realize I left out the most impt field. Probably max $5k with setting.

Yes highly possible. My diamond is D vs1 which cost 4.25 and a setting is usually 550. So if u looking for .6 I think also possible

there was a 0.59 F VS1 at 4.9k.. i think pushing color down might be able to get 0.6c and plus setting perhaps squeezing in at 5k.

What cut was it, their super ideal? I think I am comfortable with going down 2 more grades for colour to H but of course must let the gf decide if she's comfortable also.
