House of Hung belongs to Paul hung's father. I think Paul source diamonds for both companies, just that JP takes the super ideal and House of Hung takes the ideal
Ah that's explains it I guess

would like to share my experience of getting a proposal ring from JP...

went around the conventional shops looking for a nice ring but didn't really find any to my or my then gf's liking (i think :s13:)

came online researched abit and chanced upon this thread...was kinda surprised tat a nondescript shop in far east shopping centre was offering customisations for proposal rings and better still, at competitive pricing

met up with Jaan and he was very patient and thorough in explaining the basics(5 Cs) of a diamond, the settings, etc tat even a layman will understand :D

long story short, went back a second time to purchase after confirming the setting and diamond, proposed, got hitched and after 3 years the diamond still looked as shiny and sparkling the day i bought it
:)

p.s. Jaan thanks for your time back then, sorry this review is abit late haha

Is that the Super ideal or Solasfera? I thought JP ring box is black?

=====

Just noticed you bought yours 3 years ago. Maybe their ring box was diff back then :)

Alot of things le.. You can start by narrowing down diamonds with good HCA score (below 1.4). Then use the Ideal, ASET and Hearts/Arrows scopes.

Has anyone tried buying loose diamonds, and then bring it to a shop or send it to another for the setting? If so, can share your experience and advice?

I found that Enchanted Diamonds' loose diamonds are cheaper than other places, but the setting is more expensive.

Thanks!

Confirmed a diamond with JP today. Chose their Solasfera diamond :) Originally wanted their Octagon diamond but they didn't have the specs we wanted. Couldn't afford to wait for their next shipment too.. flat is coming soon :s13: The Solasfera is very nice too. We were sold when they showed us the diamond outside the store under the sun. haha. It was very very brilliant.

Picked out a 0.61 G VS1 with a twist side diamond setting. Just nice they have a ready set ring on their display in the same design but in a different diamond cut. Diamond is the same size I'm getting. Can't really see in the photo but the prongs are heart shape.

Looks very big on my gf's hand :D
Good thing about small fingers is the diamond look bigger.. haha. FYI, her ring finger size is 7.

Hi fir3bon3, I'm kinda in the same shoes as you too.. still deciding between the solasfera/octagon/brellia. haha

Don't mind me asking, was your gf ok with the G colour? Did she find it slightly yellow? I'm more color sensitive and can see the G and F difference. But dunno whether my gf will be able to see the diff anot

Tbh she can see the difference. Even I could see it BUT she agreed that the difference is really little... furthermore she will only have 1 diamond on her finger! :s13: nth to compare with ma. So we decided to go for the G instead. :)
