My first diamond was from Blue Nile and returned it. It was their Ideal cut range but I could tell it wasn't as sparkly as others when I compared it around. I could see the black spot inclusions in the diamond too even though they assured me it was eye clean. The good thing about them is they have a 30 day return policy. But you need to factor in the shipping cost back and pay extra for insurance. I had to fork out almost $300 for the shipping cost back. GST refund is a pain too. Almost didn't get back my gst and it took months to process. Ended up just getting a diamond locally where I could check the quality with the scopes.

Thanks for your input, it is definitely something that is at the back of my mind as well. I have actually bought a diamond at local B&M shop before. But this time I figure I give Blue Nile a try. I hope mine will turn out fine!

Decided to go for an ideal diamond over at JP since the only factor the diamond is not super ideal is cause the HCA score is not less than 1.4.

The diamond(1.02c vs2 G) and setting will cost me about 12k. Any suggestion what kinda payment mode should i use? any specific credit card that I can squeeze lotsa of rebate?

amex cash rebate cc.. 5% cash rebate.
SCB Manhattan is 3% cash rebate.

Usually there's more factors as to why it's not super ideal.. probably can only tell after seeing their 10x scopes which they will send you in 2 weeks time. It's hard to see these imperfections when viewing using the instruments.

Hopefully yours is only because of HCA score!

Went to JP yesterday to get my wedding bands. Was very tempted to upgrade my diamond but they said they only have 0.5+ octagon diamonds currently.

I remember they had afew 0.6ct+ octagons... so fast all sold out already!

Ya I can feel its a rush work, because I don't received mine after 2 weeks until I asked. And its very simple, not much angle like what speedy have..
so bad.. I'm going to ask them about this. Feel abit disappointed now

I requested for it one la bro. Haha. I saw the black background one somewhere and requested for it. It matches the wedding montage idea I have with the diamond videos I took. The only thing is the black one will take longer.

The 3 angles I received is similar to sessygurl143 one. Just slightly different angle only.. still the 3 pictures.
