I guess nobody buy gabrielle diamond anymore :(

The charlotte shop that used to sell gabrielle diamond has closed down...

May I ask what is the current trend for diamond shopping?

and How would a gabrielle diamond compare to JannPaul Diamond?

Hope someone has the answer :)

Happened to see retailers displaying banners outside their stores so just suggested to visit Soo Kee.

The 0.70 that they had on offer was going for $3.5k. F colour but SI2 clarity. 2 excellent and 1 very good on GIA.

Calculated HCA score was 3.2 which may not classify it as a very super ideal type of diamond and though no scopes provided, can tell gf liked that very much.

I've been to JP and Ling Jewellery before so I know what to look out for but sometimes I think, it's good to forget some of these 'specs' once in a while and go for what's pleasing to the eyes.

Just my 2 cents. We didn't get it anyway but I found that diamond to be a pretty good one. Clarity to us weren't important so in fact this suited us even more.

Pretty sure low HCA score isn't everything. If anything, we should always view it in daylight as all diamonds look great under the strong store lighting

Yes, diamonds will always sparkle in the shops. Not many shops will allow you to bring out the ring and see how it sparkles though. JP has that light station which can simulate different light conditions but ultimately sunlight can't be replicated.

Oh yah.. I remember their light station. They showed me their diamonds outside the shop too.. Its hard to describe but diamonds do sparkle differently in sunlight. I think they got videos of diamonds under sunlight too.

I also like goldheart 0.7carat diamond at $3.9k but i know its not going to perform well once i step out from the shop. Every diamonds looks pleasing to the eye especially under the store's lighting. But my personal opinions would still be, the diamonds from JP will never go wrong.

After all performance is relative. But I can say most girls will look out for 3 things, carat size, sparkle enough, and not yellow to turn off the eyes.

JP's diamonds are definitely good, especially their Super Ideals and above cuts which comes with a premium also. End of the day, get the diamond that your SO likes most. Previously I was never open to even consider retailers like Soo Kee/Goldheart.

Budget is important too. Comparing a 0.5 and a 0.7 at the same price, some will choose the former, some the latter.

6 prongs cover the diamond a little bit more. I feel lah

6 prongs bcos i wanted it to look like a crown :D not to mention its 'safer'

6 prongs won't make the diamond look smaller ah? My gf chose 4 prong in the end cause it will look bigger we feel?

Yup 6 prongs does make the diamond look abit smaller haha but its more secure for daily wear!

My other half passed down 2 "directives". One which was regardless of setting I should get something secure. So i thought 6 could be better than 4 in the event one claw gets broken off even though likely unlikely. 6 prongs makes it look more round too I guess.

Lynntoh you are already suffering from diamond shrinkage syndrome. The more you wear the more the diamond seems to *shrink*
