What size is this? Actually the one i picked was green in the scopes too. I actually went down again and compared with others..

Then I realised, they look the same, green or red in the middle.. the difference is too little to tell.. I ended up picking my original (still green in the middle) as I realise at different angles, it turns red too..

Hi, this image is from tinkerella's diamond. 0.71 G VS2 :)

The one I picked was red in the middle based on scope images. Perhaps you are right about the angle the diamond was placed might have affected the outcome. ;)

Dear all,

Would like to seek your opinions on my humble diamond. Was given 3 diamonds (0.62 F VS2, 0.65 G VS1, 0.71 G VS2) to choose at JP and this was the blink-iest to my eyes :o

I am waiting for the 3D rendering of the ring setting with side diamonds to be out. =:p

Whether the center is red or green doesn't really matter, it's due to the pavilion angle.

Thanks for the information! I stalked all 3 parts of this thread and noticed that the centres are either red/green/mixture but never knew what each means. Now I sure do!

I think all the JP's super ideal diamonds are fantastic... so just pick which resonate with you more!. Let me try

Thank you so much for helping me post the pics reluctance :) you're right! after i compared my scopes to the rest of the scopes in the thread. They do look pretty much the same!

I was also given this diamond as a choice at JP.

I noticed that the center of the diamond is green for contrast and chose a smaller diamond over this in the end.

Glad that you're happy with your choice! & also for not picking this one instead because I think this is the one for me hehe.
Do share your rendering with us! I reckon the 0.65 is gonna be stunning with side diamonds. Your soon to be fiancee will love it!

I was ok with floureecence medium coz only can see in UV light, and in normal daylight the D color looks better and more shiny

Fluorescence isn't always just visible under UV light, some diamonds with fluorescence will also appear "oily"/"milky"/"hazy".

Color isn't linked to shininess. As always, cut is king. If you want a top grade diamond, as usual, go by HCA score to weed out the badly cut diamonds, ASET/Ideal scope to find diamond with top light performance.

I will go for diamond 2. Just the HCA score alone makes me lean towards that diamond. Not to forget the 4 excellent as well 👍🏻

I agree too hence kinda of dilemma. Is the hca score v significant and if the .86 diamond worth de buy if it hca is as such?

HCA is significant to the point where you have weeded out the diamonds with HCA score more than 1.4, after that the scopes should be used to evaluate light performance instead.

how to see the HCA score ah?

the diamond i picked looks the brightest (the one with the specs i shared) compared to the ones they showed me, can visually tell the difference even for someone inexperienced like me so i just picked that one.

is shiniest always better or is the light supposed to be focused ?
