Hello diamond gurus! Would like your opinions on the rock I've chosen. Should I be worried about the inclusions? There seems to be a lot but given that its a VS2, it should be ok?

These are the kind of feathers, that cut through the girdle that should be avoided, yours is surface which is entirely fine. But there are also feathers forming close to cavities on girdle surface which wont cut through can also pose a threat of chipping and you can't tell on cert and must see with magnification but those are usually in SI range and below.

Also inclusions come in various colors like black clouds, black pinpoints, black crystals that might be more obvious, but you must see that for yourself. If those are white then of course no problem, request to see the inclusions?

Weirdly enough I don't have a picture of it on my devices with me now, but I included it towards the tail end of my proposal video at about 13:23 You can check it out if you'd like! :s22:

Cannot open your link bro. Something wrong?

By the way, I went to JannPaul yesterday as they have new heart shaped diamonds which just came in. The sales guy showed me two heart shapes and gave me a short edu session. I believe the "cutesy" term you used in your last post was referring to a "happy heart". The heart shape you chose is the short and fat type right?

Hi experts, is a 0.83ct E VS1 with triple ex no fluorescent, hca 0.8 (yup it's only indicative) for 7k+ reasonable? Unfortunately no scope images...

Wow the price jumped by almost half! I was quoted $4,600 for 0.75 E VS2 3Ex. A bit risky if you can't evaluate through a scope.

Is it the heart shape one for u? I was quoted 5k+ for a 0.75 E VS1 with hca 1.x round brilliant. Can only say put side by side with the other one, the light performance and how it looks is already very visible to the naked eye.

So torn now lol. Actually I went with my SO as she wants to choose herself and she is already very happy with the 83 one. But I'm the typical value hunter lol.

Can't tell without scopes. HCA isn't really indicative, it just weeds out poor light performing diamonds.

Two diamonds of same carat weight, GIA triple excellent, same clarity and colour grade, may still be priced very differently because the final quality of cut cannot be discerned from that information alone.

Btw, not sure if bb_100's price reference is for a heart cut diamond or a round brilliant cut (cos he has been discussing heart cut diamonds recently), but generally prices aren't similar across different cuts for same specifications.

Without examining through an ASET scope, it could be grossly overpriced or grossly underpriced, can't say for sure

Nop, at first I sourced for round brilliants. The one which I mentioned in my previous post was a round brilliant. It was only after I subtly found out from my girlfie that she wanted heart shape then only I started looking for hearts haha.

Wait, I am confused. Which one is a better performer? 0.75 or 0.83?

That one, the price reference is for a round brilliant. I know heart shape cannot compare with round brilliant one haha.

All quoted at JP?

0.83ct E VS1 with triple ex no fluorescent, hca 0.8 for 7k+ (assumed Round Brilliant)

AND

5k+ for a 0.75 E VS1 with hca 1.x round brilliant

AND

$4,600 for 0.75 E VS2 3Ex Round Brilliant

The last seems like a very good deal.

Based on the specs of the 2 diamonds evokiller chose (I assume you want colourless range, at least VS2/VS1 and above), and in that same price range, here are some online price references for your comparison. I'm not recommending them ah, later people come along and not-so-subtly remark that I'm a noob and in no position to recommend :s13:

I usually just check whiteflash or BGD diamonds (not bluenile because they don't have ASET scope images and it's not possible to do an apples-to-apples comparison, not james allen because their ASET images are only available on request and I'm too lazy to do that since I'm not buying).

There's a 0.814 F VS2 from Whiteflash, from their A Cut Above range, priced at around S$7400 (GST factored in). IMO, Whiteflash's ACA, which is supposed to be a "super-ideal", has looser tolerances than JP's "super-ideal". Rough price gauge would be to factor in a 10-15% uplift for a JP "super-ideal" with same specs.

IMO, personally, if I were offered that 0.83ct E VS1, triple ex, no fluorescence, hca 0.8, price around 7k+, but with no scopes available to examine, I'd rather go with the Whiteflash diamond, which is a bit more expensive in terms of price to carat, but which has ASET scopes available to examine.

Confirm not JP. JP would have shown these through scopes, even if they are not from the "super-ideal" range. I think the price range for a 0.7X "super-ideal" would probably be somewhere around 8-9k for those specs, and around 9-10k for the 0.83.

a 4,600 for 0.75 round brilliant, "super ideal", E, VS2
to me is indeed a very good deal. A bit drooling now.
(if all scopes are in good placement)

Usually, if they don't have the scopes, I doubt it will be a super ideal cut. The scopes will be alot more useful and I dont think its a good idea to buy without the scopes.

You can try comparing with the super ideals from JP and the ideals from House of hung. They are in the same shop so its easy to compare. IIRC, I was shown an ideal cut 0.8ct E VS1 from house of hung side for arnd $6k. It had hca 1+ too but there were some issues with the diamond under the scopes that failed their super ideal standard. I was explained that those wasn't super ideal.

In the shop I can't really tell the difference with the super ideal and ideal. Though it was more obvious when they showed me outside away from those shop lights. Scopes 100% matters.

Different carat range can be cheaper or more ex. These are the info I got last time for reference.

In the 0.9 range, they are cheaper.
JP Super Ideal 0.92 F VS1 - SG$12,300
WF ACA 0.92 F VS1 - SG$11,600

All is with inclusive of taxes already.

In the 0.8 range,
JP Super Ideal 0.81 F VVS2 - SG$9,100
WF ACA 0.82 F VVS2 - SG$8,400

JP's 8% more. With the other quotes that I have, they are about 5-10% higher in the 0.8 range.

Maybe you can look at the 0.9 range too for cheaper ones.

PS. This is how I get my SO to get a bigger diamond :D

Hmm not sure why but you can try this one - https://www.facebook.com/Ceedoh/videos/10154399914617911/?l=5582847789316836515

Also, yes I think you can describe it as short and fat. Very.. comic-like!
