If you are talking about the render that they send you not being the same as the reference you gave them, its normal I think. Happened to me too. Cause its just a 3D render after all and no way can it look like the real thing as its missing all the lighting, shadows ,highlights I.e everything looks flat.

Luckily.mine turn out to be okay and my fiancee was quite happy with it. I think you just have to trust that they are able to replicate the design according to the reference you send them

Ohh ok. Perhaps I should trust them more like you said.

Yes I do, but somehow they are not able to produce the same "feeling" I have with the reference ring. Maybe this is my own problem hor?

Anyone had this kinda experience? How did it go after looking at the finished product?

You can see their blog. They got write about the custom works from 3d to finish. Maybe you can get a better idea of what to expect and some inspiration there.

If it helps , here's mine design (render vs actual):

The reference i gave them :

As you can see the render vs actual is very different. Not sure about your design but for mine the prongs in the render were very chunky and fat. My fiancee was worried it will turn out this way but Joey from JP assured us it wouldn't. Lucky it turned out okay :)

Hello sharing octagon scopes for this 0.848 E VVS2 @11,400sgd

Anyone have any experience with octagon in terms of ideal settings? Thanks in advance.

Can't really advise much as mine was a solasfera but your scopes look solid.

The ideal scope is sweet and hearts and arrows look good too. If forced to to pick a flaw i think that would be the ASET scopes - some minor but noticeable white areas which I think visually, you cant tell anything.

Like many have said, can't go wrong with JP - the standard and quality of the diamonds they show you is there. They showed me a octagon cut while I was there with my fiancee and man it was beautiful -but sadly it was out of my budget :s13:

I did mine at ling jewellery. The base of my ring was 'upsized' to 0.3cm so as to allow engraving to be done. So one thing u nd to consider is engraving as it will be difficult for thin rings

Your render vs actual photos look quite the same and they gave me the same "feeling". Don't know why I could not get this with my render vs reference comparison. Something seem to be missing from the renders...

Hi all, my SO just proposed recently and we really love the ring from Jannpaul so much! He complains that I look at the proposal ring more than him now ;p As I don't think it's practical to wear 2 rings in the long run, my proposal ring is gonna be my wedding ring too. Now we're planning to get his wedding band customised but not sure where else would be good or should we go back to Jannpaul. Any recommendation?

Maybe you can post your render and reference photos so we can better understand why you're concerned and help you to identify what could be missing?

Going back Jann Paul will be good if you're opting for customized bands (can slowly design yourself if you want).

If you're into certain brands then go for those brands lor. I know quite a number of friends that gets engagement ring from JP but bands from Cartier/Bvlgari for the branding.

I'm actually customising so that it can be worn with the proposal ring as a set.

Good luck to both of us!

Mine has the 750 stamp on it so I guess it's not that thin.

Mine has too. Basically my wife is gonna wear the proposal ring with the band so when we were choosing the band i told the jeweller to recommend something that complements the proposal ring

750 is the ratio of gold, not overall weight. :D

Anyway this is a good topic, there are many jeweler claims to sell 'cheap' 18k rings, but usually it's very thin on the inside, can see that the inner ring is 'hollow'. That's how they cut cost secretly

what i am implying is if its wide enough to stamp 750 visibly, it shouldnt be an issue with other engravings.

Uploaded your scopes for you :)
The setting for the octagon has 8 corners so the setting should be quite unique. You should ask them about it and check if it has any limitations.

My Brellia was a cushion diamond so only those 4 prongs type of setting is suitable.

Thanks bro. Yep I was told 4 prong is the way to go as well for Octagon. This whole proposal ring selection is such a tiring process. Lol
