Drop them an email and check lor. I believe the bands are around the same price as you paying for the proposal ring band.

Probably 600-1000 for plain ones (without diamond and depends on how thick/design)
With side diamonds probably 1.2k-1.8k? (price mentioned is for individual band and not a pair)

I'm not sure if mine is considered a customised one. They have alot of band designs to see and we chose the design that we like but change the dimensions to what we want. They can make it thinner/thicker to your liking. The small diamonds can also make bigger or smaller. FYI, my set was 1.9k.

I got the proposal ring for my wife from JP 6 years ago and saving to get a new ring for her. Both Paul and Jann are knowledgeable and patient in their explanation.

I would still advice potential buyers to do their own research and do not restrict to only one store. There are other reputable diamond sellers in Singapore that provide good services too. There also online sites that can provide you with the 'lighting' effect of your diamond by punching in the specifications. That's what I did before engaging JP. I gave them a list of specs and requested them to search for the diamond, in return, they replied back with a few suggestions and pricing.

Which online sites are you referring to bro? So far I only know HCA.

Got others?

diamonds

have been silent reading this forum for awhile, and have went to JP to take a look at their diamonds.

one question I have is what do you all think is it worth it to take their super ideal compare to their ideal diamonds at a 20% increase in price

I was quoted

1) 0.78 FVS1 $7900
2) 0.78 FVS1 $6300 (ideal)

like to have some feedback on this I do not have the scope image yet, but from the diamonds itself I can see a different but was think is 20% increase in price worth that small different in cuts

I think generally depends on you, your financial stability and how willing are you to pay for the better visual for your future partner no doubt understanding that there's isnt much monetary value in the future.

For me, I'll go for the best cut considering that Jann Paul is already much cheaper and better quality than other stores like gold heart, lee hwa etc. so since I've already saved money, might as well go for the super ideal.

Thanks for your feedback, if we put budget a side and compare

1) 0.66 F VS1 $5750 (super ideal)
2) 0.78 F VS1 $6300 (ideal)

I have a problem deciding should I go for the bigger diamond, not sure does any1 face the same problem as me?

my opinion is lean towards the better cut one. because that is rarer. with the savings you probably can get something with better specs.

Will recommend to go for the cheaper one. The savings can be put to better use eg honeymoon :D :D

Be patient and ask them to source for more ideal cuts. If you are lucky, you might just come across a half-super-half-ideal kind of diamond, which is definitely a big bang for your buck.

These half-half diamonds do exist and they are demoted to ideal cuz they only missed one super ideal requirement.

Personally I'm abit anal and will go for the better cut, I would like the best for my partner, after all it's kind of the most sentiment ring in a lifetime.

It's just like asking me if I would pay 1-2k more for one of the best watches, I will. Haha

Since your concern is on carat, first ask yourself this : without someone telling you the specs of the diamond you would you be able to tell which one is the bigger diamond straightaway at a glance?

If yes, go for the bigger diamond cause that's the single one thing YOU are most particular about. We can tell you cut is better etc etc blah blah but end of the day you are paying, so you must be happy with your purchase. Dont buy the 0.66 liao then everyday regret aiyah should have bought the bigger 0.78 carat one instead :s13:

On the other hand, without scopes of both diamonds its hard for us to give you good advice as we can't tell why the 0.78 is going only for 500+ more. Like one some said, it could be due to a minor issue e.g. clarity which resulted in it being classified as ideal by JP.

The ASET of the ideal cut is poor, especially light leakages under the table. As I said, request for a few more ideal cuts to compare. Who knows you might get lucky?

Went down to JP with my gf. She likes the Octagon and we reserved a 0.57 G VS1. We have an option to change it to a 0.54 E VS1 which costs $100 more.

Do you think I should stick with my current diamond or change?

We saw both diamonds are can see the 0.59 is v slightly bigger. Color can't really tell that much.. think its because the diamond is just too shiny and distracting to see the color. Or maybe I'm just not that sensitive to it.

My gf told me as long as the diamond is very sparkly can already :s13:
