That's a JP Super Ideal, it's the best of the best range for standard round brilliant, there won't be anything to pick on, all Super ideal by JP produces the same visual prowess

I had my proposal ring from Poh Kim Jewellery. You can view the photos, and the price of my proposal ring.

I think generally ok -- depends on whether the centre edges annoy you? That is not obvious to the naked eye la, but I couldn't unsee, so I found something more "rounded". This is my diamond's picture, for reference ...

Hi, new here and need some advise

hi guys, I am very new to this forum, i have went to Jannpaul once and here are the quote they give me :
Super Ideal Cut:

1.01 G VS2 $13,200

1.35 G VS2 $18,000

Can i ask is this price competitive ? why is there such a big jump from 1.01 to 1.35.

Are they open to nego ?

thanks a lot.

Once it crosses the 1 carat mark, it jumps quite significantly.

So for people whom are aiming for 1 carat, getting a 0.9x will be best bang for your bucks, getting 1 carat is kinda not cost efficient.

If wanna get 1 carat, can consider go for 1.1x-1.4x as the next big jump will be 1.5

1.01 and 1.35 are actually within the same rapaport pricing band.

If you calculate on a price per carat basis,
the 1.01/G/VS2 is $13,069 per carat
the 1.35/G/VS2 is $13,333 per carat.

As you can see the variance between the price per carat is actually only about 2%. This can be due to various factors, including the forex rate at the time that the diamonds were purchased by the store.

if this sounds too complex, the answer is that the reason why there is a big jump in price from 1.01 to 1.35 is because you are looking at a diamond that is 0.34 carats larger...

I think there's no cashback if you use the actual installment plan (i.e. Amex pays the entire amount to JP at one shot, then splits up the charges for you over X number of months interest free). If you go down every month or two to swipe, then got cashback because it's not actually an installment plan.

If I pay using this way, am I right to assume that I will be able to collect the ring before I complete my payment to the bank?

Using the credit card company's own installment plan? Yes because the counts as taking a loan from the bank. The bank pays the store in full and then charges you monthly for the installments. If you go down and swipe then you must pay off everything before you can collect

Err its a jump of 0.34 carat, not 0.034 of cos the price will be quite significant.

And JP is quite firm in their diamond pricing.

Hello everyone! I am new to diamonds. Been to JP twice and based on my budget was recommended Super Ideal diamonds that were in the range of 0.5X ct, F/G color and VS1 and 2 clarity. However, I felt that the diamonds were a little small and decided to look for an ideal diamond and maximise the size instead.

Went to a lot of local jewellery stores and finally managed to shortlist a diamond with the following specs:

Carat: 0.72 ct
Color: F
Clarity: VS1
Cut: GIA Triple excellent
HCA: 0.9
Size: 5.71-5.75
Fluorescence: None
Inclusion: cloud, crystal, feather, pinpoint
Table: 56%
Depth: 61.9%
Crown angle: 35
Pavilion angle: 40.6
Lower girdle: 80%
Star length: 50%
Girdle thickness: medium to slightly thick 4%

Scope Image: http://imgur.com/a/x6LB1
(Scope images were taken by me so image quality abit off)

Price: SGD 4.8 for diamond only.

Is the diamond ok for an Ideal cut?
