The loupe confirm they will give you. I bought a heart shape they also gave it to me.

U sure or not ? Good loupes are not cheap. Each loupe can cost 1k. those lousy type 10 bucks can damage your eyes ..

Chinese initials as in the pinyin initials or the character itself? For example, Hebe Tien Fuzhen 田馥甄.

His initial is 毅 and mine is 芳.

I think most of us know what 毅 encompasses. Eg: 毅力 firm, decisive ...
At first I thought 芳 was a bit "girly" to be engraved in his ring until I read up a bit and discovered it can also mean sage/esteemed person :)

Surprisingly both the words are readable in our rings although they (especially mine) are quite thin. I didn't like the feel of digital engraving so we found some jewellery store at people's park that did a superb job in mechanical engraving (!!)

We had them engraved after we said our vows (haha) so no worries about re-sizing for now. If we really need to resize in future I think at most engrave again lor hahaha

We went to Refulgent Jewellery at People's Park Complex. I was going to various shops to see if they would help me engrave the chinese character but most of them didn't. Finally, I walked into On Cheong Jewellery at Chinatown and was recommended to go to Refulgent by one of the old salesman. His exact words were, "这间刻中文字很美的。" :)

It was $5 for the chinese character and $1 for each digit of the date. So for 1 x chinese character + xx.xx.xx (date) ... we paid $13 per ring. Yes the "dot" in the date is also $1. I'm not sure what the market price is, but for something of a lifetime I guess $26 for a pair is decent. We collected our rings back in less than 30 minutes. Nothing to complain, I love the work done!!

FYI we purchased our bands from Meyson and they did offer engraving services (cannot remember if it's for free) but imho the fonts suck :/ Hubby showed me when he went to collect the rings and I was like, NO NO NO NO ... Here's a pix of the Meyson engraving card :/

That's really good to know. We bought our bands from Meyson too and I can't agree more about their fonts. Do you have a picture of your rings with the engraving?

Using husband's account ... because i can't embed images haha :p
Also, nobody told me how hard it is to take pictures of the insides of rings T_T

This is the best I can do. Also, attached a reference of how thin my ring is. I think it's pretty awesome that they managed to engrave such a thin surface!

On Cheong! Heard that name from my partner before. The price is really okay, I was thinking at least $80 haha. Meyson's horrible, especially Font 2.:s13:

I can see the scopes in your link album but can't upload them. It says ''please update your account for 3rd party hosting''.

Its not a Super Ideal cut bro. The arrows are crooked and there are light leakages. I've seen Ideal cuts that are better.

As long got money, sure can change :s13:

Well, do your homework and test water occasionally on the design of ring she likes.

Or else, simply bring her to the shop to find the ring lor, not much surprise element then. There's always a risk you need to pay for if you would like perfect surprise.

money is small ...

the risk is the mood might swing against your favor ...

of course might be in your favor too ...

for me the surprise when you drag her with you bring her to such a shop ...
