Scizorsim, I feel like most people here are guys haha since you said gals. I’m not going to be very helpful, but personally I think that JP has already filtered for stones that are high quality and symmetrical. I would be fine with the stone you mentioned because it looks symmetrical to me and my diamond is so tiny (also about half carat) that I will really never be able to see that difference between that 2 o’clock arrow with my own eyes. But since it’s bothering you, why not pick a different stone? Maybe you could get VS2 instead for better value. You might not need VVS2. It’s still going to be super white and eye clean at that size.

About whether or not the images look good, honestlyyyyyyy every single scope image from JP in this thread including mine has looked extremely similar to me. A few years ago when I read old posts on this thread I was wondering why people post the “same” scope images over again and again haha. Cause they all look exactly the same, very symmetrical and show no light leakage. It’s already perfection or close to perfection.

While for scope images of diamonds outside of JannPaul, they can be really truly terrible, not symmetrical at all etc.

TLDR your scope images look great to me. I would never have noticed the 2 o’ clock if you hadn’t pointed it out.

White Gold, Yellow Gold or Rose Gold?

White gold probably. I have rose gold. I have never seen someone else (in person) with a rose gold ring. A friend told me her mum talked her out of a rose gold e-ring saying she might get tired of it. JP said that the majority of the rings they make are white gold. Can probably tell from their photo album of rings. I’ve never seen anyone our age in person with a yellow gold modern diamond engagement ring. Always white gold. I think two-tone is another great idea.

Haha I said gais with an "i" not "y", or is it spelt gaiz?

Thanks for your thoughts, I went down today to look in person again and really cannot tell with the phone camera eye or normal eye. It's just that sometimes when you see it you can't unsee it. And they currently do not have a lot of octagon diamonds in that range available.

Maybe all gena choped by all you HWZers.

Like what the previous bro said, you can't tell at all with your naked eye. But since you are bothered by it, just change to a different one loh.

Hi guys, where do you guys get the wedding bands from? From JannPaul as well? I have invested a lot on the proposal ring so am looking for a lower price wedding band. I wonder if I should go to JamesAllen or BlueNile for the wedding bands as I don't need perfect diamonds for the wedding bands.

Decent means it's good bro! Cause mine is similar hahaha

HAHA do you have a picture or old post to share? Maybe it's really my bias but the ones I have glanced posted on this thread seem better (well obviously I look at mine with more scrutiny than others' here):s12:

Still trying to get the different one, or get over being bothered by it lol because the price deferential is 10% for another shortlist with similar specs (except G goes to E)

I got a G, VS2. Colour is very very hard to tell even when you are comparing to D or F.

I got my wedding band from JP. JA i still feel is expensive and on par with JP prices. Check Etsy as well if you are price shopping, there are a lot of China jewelers there that make eternity bands in 14k gold.

I would try either cjdiamonds.sg (Peter, located in Singapore) and ask him for quotes on wedding bands and send him photos or you can read this post to probably find the cheapest possible wedding bands in Singapore, except that I haven’t been to the shop personally. https://dayre.me/sweetpea/UqBJC6Sejo

I have also bought a 5-stone diamond ring off carousell. A lot of people on carousell are selling diamond eternity bands for reasonable prices. If particularly fussy after you buy you can send to cjdiamonds.sg for replating (I took a few antique pieces to him for replating and they look brand new. His prices for plating and repairs are the lowest I’ve personally found in Singapore, jewelry stores quoted me much higher for replating and shortening of bracelet etc.
