Proposal Ring - Part 3

Just as I was about to share my recent finished ring done at JP haha. Just want to say that I'm totally in love and satisfied with the diamond, ring setting, and of course not forgetting, the really pleasant service at JannPaul.

I'd like to give a shoutout to Eugene, Judy/Julie and Joy for their great assistance from the choosing of my diamond, designing of my ring, to the final beautifully crafted ring itself. Eugene was the main person I had liaised with throughout the entire process, but I was served by different staffs throughout as my schedule wasn't able to meet his at times.

Nonetheless, despite that, Eugene is very patient and helpful in guiding me through the whole journey. All in all, a big thumbs up to Eugene for his impeccable service. I'll highly recommend him when you head to JP. I am very happy to receive my finished proposal ring, as I wanted the ring to be special and meaningful for her, and for us.

Thank you, I'm pleased with the setting as well, as I always love the elegance of a cathedral setting. It's $700 for setting itself anyway.

You mean the letters on each side of the heart? If yes, they're 2 alphabets indeed.

Primarily because I did not get to see the ASET imagines. Also the rest of the scopes were not near sic. Meaning to say each scope (ideal, hearts and arrows) had 1 or more flaws. In fact at Poh Kim I eliminated the 0.55 and 0.61 from the 3 diamonds given to me to choose.

Hi mooxie, it’s a super ideal cut from JP. The damage is $4300 for the diamond only. Booked since September, dunno if still can change the diamond

I see, the price is about right for a SIC piece. So if you can't change, it's still not a bad deal.

If there's a chance, you might want to look at some with lower clarity grades SIC or an ideal cut to compare. There will be some ideal cut that is just a little off from SIC but the price differs quite a bit.

Hi guys, can I get your honest opinion on whether the diamond below is worth the money?

I was quoted $6,350 (excluding setting)
0.73 E VS1 Ideal Cut (H&A not 100% symmetrical)

It is a little high based on the average price of E VS1 in the 0.7 range. But considering that it is one that is near SIC, it's justifiable.

You can compare with another piece with similar specs but a lower price range to make your decision! Place them side by side, on the same background, same angle to compare.

The cut proportions are not the most ideal, and the H&A images are too zoomed out to make any accurate opinions.

Can't really judge because can't see the actual piece, but if I were to just assess the price from the specs, for E VS1 0.49, the price tag is quite okay.

You mean entire process from the start where I go for the diamond education, all the way till the collection of the finished ring?

The entire journey from start to end is approximately 3 - 3.5 months for me. This will defer based on individuals/couples, as some might not need customisation for ring setting, while others might prefer more in-depth customisation.

For mine, the ring setting customisation, including changes of the drafts, took about a month or so, while the ring crafting itself took 6 weeks. To be conservative, it would be safe to cater at least 3 - 4 months for the entire process.

They use Asian size. It should be the same as elsewhere. Better to ask JP to be safe.
