Hi Miltah bro.

Are these equivalent to JP's SIC?

Naked eye might be hard to tell.

- On paper it’s also the closest to JPs fav specs of 34.5/40.8 - yours being 34.5/40.9
- Aset on dark background but idealscope indicate minimal leakage. Some less intense light return with stray green streaks on ASET.
- Minor variation in girdle
- Minor variation with heart n arrow separation

If u looking at E and vvs1, u should really compare local prices.

I believe u can judge this whiteflash ‘premium select’ yourself. It’s their second tier that just miss the ACA cut. U can clearly see in the hearts views that the separation variation is more than the ACA.

But from what I’ve seen, this is a very good premium select for a fairly good price

Tks bro. Am I right to say:

ACA = close to JP SIC
Premium Select = close to HOH Ideal

JP currently trying to source a 1.25 SIC for me. Need the 1.25 for sentimental reason. U got lobang for a SIC equivalent 1.25?

Since u selected G color, I’m assuming u ok with it. Yes, I got lobang for 1.25ct.
U PM me

Hi all,

Very new to this so pardon me. I'm planning to propose somewhere around September, and the budget is around $3500-4500.

SO is wearing a size 14.5 ring and she plans to stack both rings in the future.

I went to JP and I was quoted the following specs:
0.43 E VVS2, SIC - $2900
0.52 D VVS2, SIC (GIA 7323790714) - $4450
0.52/0.53 (can't remember) E VVS2, SIC - $4250

I read the D/VVS2 is only good on paper and under normal lighting conditions can't really tell the difference. I am thinking of dropping it to E/F and VS1/VS2 and maybe bump the carat up slightly. Any thoughts on this?

provided JP got stocks that ideally match wat u wan..i was hope to drop 1 grade of color or clarity too to bump carat, but all depends on stocks available

Hi all,

New to this thread and have been reading up on the countless invaluable information available here. My turn to look for engagement rings! I see a lot of recommendations for Jannpaul, but would like to check if anyone has experience dealing with Michael Trio instore Pure Hearts collection.

Is this equivalent to the SICs available at JP?

Thanks in advance!

Micheal Trio's pure heart collection is anyhow.

https://www.michaeltrio.com/diamondproduct/index/view/sn/VD1635842
Table: 56%
Depth: 62.6%
Crown: 36.5
Pavilion: 40.6

The proportions are so bad. I don't know how to start. Some of them have fluorescence too. I won't even call them Ideal cuts.

Thanks for the response! Went to have a look at Vivo Diamonds the other day as well, any one has experience with their Signature Ideal collection?

Am also looking at Black by Brian Gavin (online), has anyone had experience with them? And any suggestions for local setting if purchase diamond online?

Some are quite vocal against Vivo for underhand tactics whereas I only evaluate the stone. But I haven’t seen anything worth seeing yet.

As for the Brian Gavin, great vendors. No issue. But I would wait for a sale to get 8% off the signature range. If u decide to go down with BGD, pm me. Might be able to get u free shipping

agreed with the BG's suggestion.

As for vivo...https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/courts-crime/jewel-firm-pays-for-defaming-rival-online
:s13: I'm judgemental, the boss whom will go to the extend of buying senior forum accounts online to defame rivals will never give u a real bargain. :s12:

We just bought a ring from JP recently. The diamond is SIC 0.73 F VS1 7.1k. Pave setting is 1.2k. Excellent service and workmanship! :D

JP Solsfera Diamonds

Went to visit JP yesterday and had a look at their SICs and Solsfera series. Any one bought a Solsfera before? Would you recommend it?

Was offered the following based on my requirements:

  1. [SIC] 0.62 E VS1 - $5,200
  2. [SIC] 0.60 F VS1 - $5,000
  3. [Solsfera] 0.542 G VS2 - $4.650

Any views would be great!

Thanks in advance!

All great options. My preference in that size is SIC.

Another consideration... 0.625 F VS2 $3500 (after gst)
Discount code only valid until end June
Canary Diamond can set locally for $600

Cushion Cut Diamonds

Hello everyone,

I'm looking out for Cushion cut diamonds. Went to JP the other week actually felt that the Brellia had too much premium to the price compared to a normal cushion diamond (noticeable difference side by side but I don't think one could tell from naked eye on normal lighting conditions). So, I decided to look out online and found that BrianGavin prices were much cheaper than JP's Brellia.

The problem I have with Brian Gavin is the price of the setting is pretty high and I dont see any designs that I like as well. I found something I like at White Flash but the Cushion diamonds on Whiteflash have limited actual pictures - they only give the AGS certificate number and I believe they source the stones from their suppliers/contacts. Appreciate some inputs on folowing:

1. General advice on what to look at for Cushion Cuts. I have a few stones from BG and Whiteflash which I would like input on but the site doesnt allow me to post links and images. Any way around this?

2. Where to go to set a the loose diamond if I buy it online? I saw a recommendation for Canary Diamond. How much would a engraved yellow gold setting such as below cost? I have a simple hand engraved setting which I like on Whiteflash.

3. Is it better to just buy the diamond with setting if I know the correct size?

Are most people buying from JP now? I visited recently but they have limited stock in the popular 0.8 0.9 range.

I went to another jeweller who recommended this 2 diamonds.

GIA 2201327271
GIA 6322892523

But he brushed off my question about scope images and I keep getting error messages on online HCA calculators.

p.s. sorry bros, new account not enough posts to upload images/url

1. Most cushion are not cut to hearts n arrows. Thus the premium at JP. If u can’t see the difference of the distinct facet then u dun need much general advice as most would do.
There is a sale at Brian Gavin now with code june1910 (10% off). Pm me for free shipping.
If u want comments, u can post links as text

2. $600 plain setting from Canary.
If I’m not wrong, whiteflash dun do in-house cushions. So u really only got Brian Gavin to consider

3. I would buy online n set locally as the cost of setting is higher overseas, especially if u not quite sure if finger size. If u do, sure, get ring n stone if the cost is reasonable

Can I ask which jeweller is this so I never go.
Both stones are horrible. Bad proportions, cut deep, non complementary angles.

HCA only got 3 tries. N they might be doing some upgrading or maintenance works on the site

Hi Miltah,

Thanks so much for the reply.

These are the few diamonds I was looking at:

Brian Gavin is a hearts n arrow cushion similar to JPs
The 2 other Whiteflash, one has big chunky facets like an old European cut while the other one has more distinct cutting n facets

I can’t tell u which is better. It’s a preference thing but note the whiteflash stone are all virtual inventory meaning they dun have the stone physically with them.

They are also typical of a standard cushion cut, meaning cut deep thus compared to a BG or JP cushion will look smaller. There’s also no scope info
