Can i know what's could be a decent price for this diamond?

And is there any sources i can get loose diamonds with decent pricing? Any lobang?

Not all GIA triple excellent are good. Your diamond not even triple excellent.

Cut Grade Excellent
Polish Excellent
Symmetry Very Good

Plus u hit 0.7c high price jump. What is the budget you have in mind?

Good diamonds at a similar price point (G, VS2, US$2500-2600):

The cheapest 0.7 G SI1 from whiteflash is us$2900.

I would abe careful with a non vetted SI stone with feathers. Where are the feathers?
Yes it’s more ex. But your choice is not even a triple excellent with only VG symmetry.
So if u are happy with non-triple excellent stones, I’m sure there are cheaper ones

U can try picking a 0.65 to 0.69 to save abit of money as there’s a price jump at 0.7c

Here’s a triple ex dull rock

Your stone is cut deep and it’s got non complementary crown with pav angles
Looks like it’s cut max for weight

Seems like all the diamonds given is not worth the price :( but under naked eye.. does it matter? Or what's the factor to look at?

Hi everyone, i am thinking of purchasing a loose diamond online, and making the setting locally in sg,
any good local store to recommend to make setting?
Are these stores good?
https://www.morethandiamonds.com.sg/
https://www.thecanarydiamond.com/heritage/

Are there any concern if i were to buy diamond online and do setting locally? (Diamond chip during setting isit convered by store?)

For setting, 14k White gold vs Platinum
which will be a better choice?

Others who bought online have used Canary to set with good feedback.

MoreThanDiamonds is old skool with sketches. Seem to do more resetting of heirloom stones. Husband wife team if I’m not wrong. Crafter is local so u might get it sooner as compared to sending it overseas to HK crafter.

Setting chip. Personally if a store takes your stone n agree to set for u. They should wear the risk if not then just reject the job rather than accept it. But every jeweller is different, best u check.

White gold is plated n can only be polished 2-3 times as it wears the material down. Tends to be more shiny than platinum. Platinum is harder but scratches to get a patina look. Both different,

If I’m not wrong by default if a jeweller does polishing for your white gold, they have to re-plate rhodium isn’t it? Hence technically u can polish a lot times as it will re-plate it every polish? That’s what I recall knowing, haven’t heard of anyone that polishes white gold and doesn’t re-plate it

https://www.jannpaul.com/content/Rhodium-plating-service

“polishing involves the removal of a fine layer of metal. Thus, JANNPAUL recommends not to have this service carried out more than twice in the lifetime of your jewelry”

Yes that is correct. But u always removing more material than u plate.
N u can’t just plate over plate without polishing as rhodium is brittle if it’s a thick layer.

So technically if u send to JP for polishing more than twice. It’s probably time for a new ring.

Oh hmm, didn’t know they wrote that, most rings are good for 3-4 times, I guess writing recommended 2 times is just to ensure they cover themselves legally if any issues 🤣

Yup I’m sure there’s a level of safe tolerance built into that but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to redesign a new ring for a 20yr anniversary perhaps

Hi guys! Would like to hear some of your advice/opinions, pls. I am currently considering between a;

a) Super ideal cut, 0.8ct - $8300
b) Ideal cut, 0.9ct - $7800 (Estimated)

Both are from JannPaul, prices are for diamond alone

Based on these mere figures alone, which one would y'all go for? Thanks in advance!

Depends on the other grades like the color and clarity bro. Also see what’s the reason of why that Ideal didn’t make the Super Ideal cut. If you want to be safe, go for the Super Ideal.
