I ordered the White series round 0.45-0.49 and was told waiting time is 1-2 months, 1 week later JP emailed saying they have a peice available for me. :s13:

Nice! Why did you choose the round instead of the oval/decagon?

Gf likes the halo design, so kinda defeats the purpose of the decagon.. Never considered oval though.

I must say that the decagon is really beautiful for a bigger carat, at the size i chose i think it will be quite hard to differentiate between the decagon and the round.

Wow! 1ct white series! Congrts on your buy!
The HCA doesn't work on modified rounds though. It's only for the 57 facets.

Man.. really glad I read this thread. I checked out their white series line diamonds they are really on a whole different level. Been studying the aset on and off and searching around, dropped down few days back and I don’t even need to see the aset they’re visually all so much more beautiful than all the jewellers I’ve been to on spot. There’s 4 cuts at the moment, I’m torn between which. I only know she likes the new designs they have on Instagram, oval suits lengthy fingers better?

Torn between 2 diamonds

Hi guys, I'm torn between 2 diamonds, need some advice.

Diamond 1: 0.5ct, Very good cut, D colour, VVS1, $2500
Diamond 2: 0.51ct, Excellent cut, D colour, VS1, $2600

Which will you pick? Prices are for loose diamonds though haha.

Excellent cut itself it already a very wide range. For Very Good Cut, its even worse. I don't think there's any point in getting a D VVS1 spec and the cut is lousy. It's like getting a good motherboard and an intel onboard chip (lousy graphic cards). The end result will be limited by the lousy cut/graphic card.

From what you're comparing, I don't think you might know what you're actually getting. There are many variables from this like the proportions, symmetry, fluorescence, light performance, etc. etc. I suggest reading more about diamonds before taking that leap. But if I had to choose between the 2, I'll pick Diamond 2. It has the bare minimum ''Excellent'' cut.

Hi, Anyone can comment on Aset scope below for lighting performance. Is it acceptable? The photo was not taken properly.

ASET looks fairly ok. The arrows are shifted and the star facets and girdles not very symmetrical. But it might be due to how the photo is taken. The hearts and arrows scopes might be able to reveal more on this if you have the pics. It'll be good to tally the scopes with its proportions too.

Range better or exact specs better?

Hi all! I'm a newbie here! I've pretty much decided on JP e-rings after reviewing all the comments on this site. So thank you all! :D

I've heard of satisfied JP customers asking for certain specs from JP and being quoted a price, and thereafter, receiving rings with better specs with the price maintained. My question is: Is it better to ask JP for specific ring specifications, and then be (pleasantly) surprised later if it's better? or is it better to give a range of specifications?

E.g. 1: 0.82 carat G VS1
E.g. 2: 0.82-0.89 carat, F-G, VS1

Thank you all in advance!

Also, on a related note: I was quoted $8,500 for a 10H&A, round, 0.798 carat, F, VVS1 - is this a good deal?

That's for their white series right? I think if you custom cut it, they can only give range. It's only if heng heng the diamond's grade go above the range, you will be pleasantly surprised and benefit from the maintained price :s13:

$8.5k for white series 0.79 E VVS1 is very worth it le. I recall their SIC 0.8ct G VS cost is already $8k+. Summore this is the white series and higher specs. Maybe cos its still in the 0.7ct ++ range.

Just wondering, after you pick a diamond at JP, how does the ring design process go?
