U managed to set order for engagement/wedding band?

it's more of to take a look. No doubt the diamonds are sparkling. and was given basic education about the 4Cs amongst other diamond characteristics. However, I was only offered the round cut, despite asking about other cuts possible. I am still intending to go ahead to JannPaul this saturday to take a look. However, if I were to make a comparison, assuming the cut are of the same quality, eclarity is about 20-25% cheaper. I was able to distinguish between D vs EFG. but G, E, F colour grades, i can't really tell.

But the diamonds definitely seem to be better than Yuen Tung though....

If you purchase from eclarity for the engagement ring, u get wedding bands at 40% off.

The cut is not the same.. they don't show the diamonds with the scopes.
I can see D and F.. but I remember D and E was very hard.

Congratss!! Very nice!
My geography not very good. Which country did you propose in?
When you're at the airport, did you go through the metal detector?
Australia! I left the ring in my hand carry bag which went through the scanner. No problems.

Yah eclarity don't show the scopes.. Not sure if that is a concern. But nonetheless purpose of the scope will be to assist in flare and scintillation. I remembered how it looks like. See how it goes at jannpaul. Btw, I was quoted 3900 for 0.63c, f colour vs2 and excellent cut at elarity inclusive of classic ring.

Hello everyone,

Was on this forum for very long - spying other people's purchases, wondering whether the purchase my SO made was the right one, if i should change design etc etc

After 6 months, my SO finally proposed! haha We bought a 0.71 E VS1 back in December, and he kept the ring for so long

Wanted to write my review because I promised Jerome that I would do so.

So here goes:

We went to JP with lots of good reviews, decided to set an appointment and was served by person X. The diamond education was v brief (20mins) and we were totally the awkward couple, hence didn't want to make a commitment then. Was told off by this person X (because X was stunned we didn't want to put a deposit first). We ended up feeling felt quite upset about it Decided to forget about JP and shop around.

In the mean time I did lots of research - online, offline, and with my friends. Fast foward, we decided to give JP another chance since everyone had such a good experience. E-mailed JP and asked for Jerome (recommended by someone on this forum :s13:). Went down with SO and wah it was a v different experience!! haha SO felt a lot more comfortable, and I was also quite pleased with the experience.

We weren't introduced to the different types of cuts earlier diamond education, and I was also quite tired after the months of research - so I choose the super ideal. Was quite scared on how the diamond will look mounted, because I wanted a diamond band but SO was keen on a v simple solitaire. Was worried it won't look bling enough, but I was so wrong. The diamond is v bling :D

Throughout the whole process - selecting, negotiating, requesting for scopes - Jerome was very accommodating and helpful. I could message him throughout the day asking about the different things (claws, ring size, colour etc.) and he would promptly reply my messages.

There was even a happy accident. I had initially chose squarish prongs, but the ring was set differently (similar to this)
my SO didn't know and didn't check when he collected in Jan. So when I got the ring after he proposed, I was like eh why like that one :s13:.

But in true JP service, Jerome genuinely felt bad and offered to reset the ring in the correct prongs for me. However when I compared a live sample of the squarish prong setting, I realised it didn't look as good as the one I had - so I label this a happy accident :)

All in all I am very happy and keep staring at my ring everyday :D

Can't wait to collect mine after seeing your ring :s12:

Without scopes is quite hard to tell the quality of the diamond as all the jewellery shop lighting is quite deceiving. At least with scopes you know what is the quality you are buying.

Since my SO is not someone to compare, wanted to get the biggest that can fit my budget. Getting the diamond from a contact overseas so will need to set the diamond locally.

GIA report: 1227461529
HCA: 1.2
0.71 G

No doubt I know it can definitely not be compared to a JP Super Ideal level but carat does matters. For the price I'm paying, I'll probably only get a 0.5x.

Don't forget that you'll need to pay 7% GST and usually to set a loose diamond locally without purchasing the diamond, it's charged at a higher rate...plus the after services (free polishing, upgrade policy etc) you might not get all these via buying the diamond overseas.

Heard from my friend that there is a AMEX cashback card which get you 3% cash rebate. The good thing is you no need to wait quarterly for the cashback to be in your acct. It will be reflected by end of each statement.

But some retailer dont accept amex though, you may like to check with them.
