Hi all Pros,

After all these years of following the thread, finally went to JP recently and as expected, tip top services. Just gotten my scope, maybe I am being too paranoid over the diamond I have chosen.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1ASL3D7ChToYzhBQmRKVXg1UzBjMEJvblZFOE1ST0ZPOTlr

I seem to find the gap between the hearts and arrow very very close to each other, unlike others' heart and arrow scope having a substantial gap.

The depth of the diamond is over 62% at 62.1%, is it not so ideal?

Also, just find it weird that this diamond has not been taken since last year end. Any issue with the scope that any pros can spot??

Thanks so much=)

Don't worry about the scope for solasfera, they are all of high standards, only thing you should be concerned of is you prefer this over super ideal in person and if you're comfortable with the price.

Whats wrong with the gap between the hearts and arrows? :s11: Most of the good diamonds in this thread look like that haha. Anyway I don't think they differentiate between a super ideal and ideal cut for solesfera la, though I haven't seen a H color around before. What is the price tag for this?

Both of us made an mistake, it's a solasfera cut...the price should be above super ideal.

It's definitely a solasfera cut. Solasfera cuts are separate from ideal or super ideal cuts. What my post meant was, this Solasfera diamond is likely to be a HOH diamond, and not a JP diamond. This is because JP does not stock H colour diamonds.

Agree. The scopes look fine. Main thing to decide is:

1) Solasfera or super ideal?
2) Price okay?
3) Okay with the specs? VS2 is definitely okay, but some people might mind having H colour. Differs from person to person. Tiffany stocks up to I colour. Some people care only about brand, and they won't mind an I diamond from Tiffany.

JP gets their solasfera from the main cutter, and they have access to their inventory, which probably explains the H color. They can probably get lower grade too if customer request and stocks available in the cutter inventory

any advise on the above? thanks!

Hi all!

Gotten my scope images. Any feedback would be appreciated! (help with embedding images would be appreciated too :s13:)

i've taken interest in another 0.664 Octagon G VS1 which is $100 cheaper then the diamond below. Not sure if i should sacrifice color and clarity for a bigger diamond.:s22:

These are your scope images. I can't seem to download your certificate though.

For a 0.06ct, will you be able to see the difference? Imho, I will go for the higher color and clarity rather than the slight increase in carat weight. At the very least, I can see the difference between a F and G color.

4K for 0.6 solasfera? 😧 That's a steal. Maybe because of H color, as long you're sure you're comfortable with H color, this is a great deal. Make sure to check all lighting tho e.g get the guy serving you to bring you out of shop etc to check the color under normal lighting.

That's cheaper than what I have selected!

After looking at the incoming stock, I made a reservation for a 0.525 G VVS2 Solasfera yesterday at a price of $4750. Kind of wondering why is there so much of a price difference! :look::s11: You have a much bigger carat, while I have slightly better colour and much better clarity. Any experts can explain?

Will upload my scope images once I have them.

You already answered yourself. It's the differences in color and clarify...each level jump is usually 5-10% more expensive, your color and clarity are few levels higher.

Wow. I didn't know that colour and clarity can cause that much of a difference as compared to the weight of the diamond. Thanks!

I'm so envious of u!! I spent 3850 to get a 0.6 ideal cut, e colour and VS2..

to get a solasfera at that price is.....SO GOOD!!!

Actually I'll suggest if you're not urgent, drop your reservation and request for solasfera in the G VS2 range, you'll probably save 500-800 based on your piece and use that money to perhaps push up the size :), VS2 will look exactly the same as VVS2 naked eyes, but I'm pretty sure you can notice a slight different when you convert the money you saved by getting 0.05-0.08~ more :D

The diamond is perfectly alright. But, there's a small crystal on the diamond which will reflect on the cert itself.

And I think my gf might not like it upon showing her the cert hence requested for a change.

But I need to give credits to Jerome but his prompt follow up and response to my request.

really depends on what you want, with your budget I would have gone for your choice since I think the color difference between an E and H is really obvious.:s13:

were you planning on showing the cert to your girlfriend? :s13: haha oh well to each their own.. what is the clarity on this new diamond? I thought its quite normal for the diamond to have a couple of incursions on it as long as it is eye clean. Mine has a feather, pinpoint and a cloud I think.

Anyway did you happen to head down to JP on tueday evening at 6 plus pm? hahah:s22:

Sorry to clarify, it's 0.61 carat E Colour and VS1. How's the scope images?

I think my gf will want to see the cert after the proposal and she might question me on the crystal :s22:

Nope I never went today. Hahaha
