hey guys, really appreciate it for bring it to my attention :) Kudos and hope you get to maximise your cash rebates. Most importantly, clarify the quarter you are in :)
haha I think the most pain part is you can only get your ring after finishing all your payments. Imagine you're paying over 9 months. Cannot touch your ring for 9 months 😂

Help you embed the video... Not a big fan of the setting tbh, it's a bit over the top and the diamonds set into the "petals" make the prongs look very big from the top view.

From the side reminds me of the kids pacifier sweet thingy..

Subjective I guess

If anyone is into the petal design, I came across this setting previously which I thought was quite unique. 8 prongs, quite different from the usual 4 prong/6 prong settings. Side profile is designed to look like a lotus.

To supplement the above situation (This will happen in real life coz i'm gonna earn my well-deserved $200!), this is quoted from UOB One card's TnC:

3.2. Quarterly Cash Rebate for the first Quarter may be awarded on a pro-rated basis as follows:
i) where the Minimum Amount for a Tier is only met in the third Statement for the first Quarter, then
one-third of the Quarterly Cash Rebate for that respective Tier will be awarded;
ii) where the Minimum Amount for a Tier is only met in the second and third Statements for the first
Quarter, then two-thirds of the Quarterly Cash Rebate for that respective Tier will be awarded;
or

Thanks for the clarifications!

This is my current scenario where my Quarter starts only in July.

June: Spend $2000
July: Spend $2000
August: Spend $2000
September: Nothing

Will I still be entitled to a pro-rated cash rebate?

UOB told me my quarterly is june, jul, aug. I dunno if the quarterly is the same for everyone, but if you received your statement in july, u should only receive $200 pro-rated. Even if you do not spend in Aug, u will still receive $200.

Better to check with UOB for your clarification. it's worth it.

You mean your first statement was for July? If that's the case you're under July - Aug - Sept quarterly isn't it, there's nothing to pro rate if your first statement is on July...you will most likely get 0 rebates due to failing to fulfill the Sept.

Or there's a chance you get prorated for April May June which is $100 rebate since you spent 2k for June..

haha the diamond must be very big to set the ring in this manner and not have it look too cluttered.. if the diamond is small the petals will just look like thick prongs

yeah, according to the original jeweller, seems to be with 0.75 to 1.25 carat in mind. They probably used a 1.25 carat in the 3D mockup!

I saw a similar style on JP's FB. Its on a 0.77ct diamond. The prongs are not as thick as I imagined them to be.

From the top? It is a rather standard 6 claw-prong design, as opposed to the 8 prong one I linked. The prongs could probably be even smaller than that and still be secure.

They also did a similar 6 prong one with a tulip design forming the basket encasing the diamond. That was quite nice too.

Check out Jann Paul, they are pretty popular and known for selling top quality diamonds yet cheaper than usuall mall stores. Call them up and book an appointment before going, they will educate you everything about diamonds and no hard sell. I'll recommend you Casey, pretty friendly guy and he's the guy doing up all the Jann Paul YouTube educational videos on diamond haha :)
