Well, if you scroll further below, you can see my comments on my initial booking with SK. I've cancelled it and purchase a new one from JP instead.

For this lesson I "burnt" my 500 deposit with SK. Non-refundable, but can be used to purchase other items.

Noted on the advise by others is that always check the certification of the gem itself. Go for AGS / GIA. Never IGI as their grading is loose and incorrect.

The gem I got from SK was from IGI. My new purchase from JP is from AGS.

I got my 0.6 super ideal D colour vvs2 for 6.5k

I got a solasfera, which is similar to SK all love also 10 arrows 10 hearts and GemEX certified very high for all 3 category (JP one is at the max). However,
All love = 81 facets
solasfera = 91 facets


0.483 carat
D color
VS2
$3700 without setting.
setting will cost $550

Are 10 hearts and 10 arrows gems certified by GemEX? Quite confusing why different gems go for different certifications.

actually i didnt have much of a choice. i wanted a higher end of a 0.4X solasfera and this was the only one they had. Solasfera limited stock compared to the others like super ideal. I was fine with F color but they only had D, so heck, the price was decent so i just went ahead with it.

GEMEX cert is actually only a light performance report.

if going to collect ring from private jeweller
how do i check to ensure the ring is real and all?

firstly of course is check reputation of the private jeweller
secondly is the certification and scopes
the serial number on the cert is imprinted on the diamond itself, need to double check if it is the diamond you purchased.

Hi I've got a GIA diamond GIA 1166504493, not sure if this is good. Anyone know if HCA could be calculate with just the GIA report?

That's a H color. Not G.

HCA can only use for the 57 facet round diamonds. Other cuts you must use the Ideal and ASET scope. Certificate won't tell you much about the light performance unless its the AGS.

Did you try comparing it with the Solasfera?

I noticed that the clarity grade on the GIA report was crystal. what does it mean?

what does fluorescence: negligible means?

proposed in korea to my gf... ring was from jp and she really like it ever since we selected it at jp.
