Tbh, you might as well get from JP. I'd get from online vendors if my country didn't have a cut focused seller in the country. but jp is in singapore and has an even stricter cut criteria than the online vendors plus it's around the same price once you factor US exchange rate + tax + resize ring all that shizzle.
Best thing is you get to see the diamond first~![]()
thanks for your advise. certainly i will pay jp a visit.
for comparison sake, any comments on the above 2 diamonds?
Thanks!!
Probably don't want a flat carat sized stone. Also, dont need to go for such high clarity tbh and 0.50 seems to have more leakage under the table, but then again whiteflash aset scopes are not "backlit" so it doesn't reveal as much.
if you go to jp ask for a lower clarity? really don't need so high IMO
Thanks. The below 3 are not so flat....what do you think?

Proposed successfully in Japan![]()
Super super happy with my ring! I think my gf loves the ring more than me now. haha. It was a last minute proposal as I tried to fit it into my Japan trip. Sam helped me expedite my ring crafting to be ready earlier. Very earnest and friendly guy. Gave me good advice on my diamond and ring design selection. Very pleased with their Super ideal cut. It's as good as what you've guys been praising about.. so I won't go too much in detail.

I proposed in Garo-Kadan Ryokan in Hakone, Tokyo.
It's one of the most expensives ryokans but so worth every penny, I went for the cheapest room available but it was good enough.
For those who are considering of doing a proposal in Japan, you might want to consider the Garo-Kadan Ryokan.
The ryokan is situated right at the highest point or almost the highest in Hakone. Could smell fresh air all the time. The best part is, you'd find yourselves on a open concept ryokan in the mountains and the MOST you'd see is another guest or 2 walking around at the same time. Very peaceful and quiet. Its big and they try to keep capacity as low as possible to keep a very private atmosphere.
There's onsens inside of course and the food is crazy healthy and good. If you think japanese people are very polite and welcoming, then this place is gonna tip that scale. Extremely romantic and we got ALOT of private romantic time while staring out into the mountains. Oh, and there's karaoke to sing together at night if you want.
All in all, experience is a 10/10 but very $$$$$.. I just made it a 2 day stay. Definitely a worthy spot for a proposal
She wasn't expecting any of all this, so she thought the whole trip was just a special plan. On the 2nd day (the onsen is accessible 24 hours) after karaoke around 2am, I suggested her to do to the onsen again and hid the ring box in my traditional robes. When she complained about how sad we had to leave tomorrow already, I took our the ring to propose with the view of the mountain in the backdrop
Anyway, these are my diamond's scope images

Very pretty! So sweet of you to plan your proposal in Japan. Can tell you put in alot of effort. I think your ring design suits her hands very well too =)
Looks so pretty! Is it a mixed metal? Looks like white and rose gold but I cannot tellhappy for you! What is the size of the carat, may I ask?
Hi guys, I got a quote from SK Jewellery for a 0.7 carat, F, S1 diamond for around S$7.5k. Is the price fair or overpriced?
Apparently based on the certificate from IGI, there is only one slight inclusion in the diamond, but it was certified as S1. Any thoughts on this?
Don't get IGI. Their grading is anyhow one. Stick to the more reputable certificates like GIA or AGS. My IGI E color diamond ended up being an actual G color.. IGI diamonds are cheaper for their sub-par standards. But SK is expensive..
For that same price, it should still be able to get you a super ideal cut 0.7 F VS diamond... better cut and clarity too.
