Looks good! Quality similar to what I have got.
Just curious what specs you got there and what design you chose?

Its a 0.8 F VS1. I chose one of their design with some changes. I'm expecting to receive my 3d by today and will share when i get it. Will need to decide to stick with the original design or my edited one.

Btw, is heart shape prongs common? Will you guys do heart shape prongs or is it too much?

one thing you might want to take note is that if your wife to be is planning to wear this alongside a wedding band, the diamonds at the side may come into constant contact with the wedding band and may result in scratches or damages to both rings ;)

Don't think so, it's tapered design and the diamonds are only at the tapered portion, the band won't be able to get close 😂

It will be more useful if you have the scopes too :)

Heart shape prongs are nice but they might be too kiddie 10 years+ later. Yours is a 4 prongs setting which can still go well with the heart shape prongs. Mine is a 6 prongs so with so many heart shapes, it will be too much.

iirc try not to buy 0.5 0.75 1.0 etc etc

carat size might reduce if you need to polish etc etc

thats why i got 0.77 instead

0.75 is ok. The reason for avoiding certain carat weights is because of the Rapaport carat weight price bands, so that if you accidentally chip your diamond and it needs to be repolished, it doesn't drop down into a lower bracket and lose a big chunk of value.

The carat weights to avoid generally are 0.5, 0.7, 0.9, 1.0, 1.50.

Hi,

I went to choose a diamond at JP with my boyf and initially we were very excited about it. It actually look us awhile to decide on this and we paid a deposit yesterday.

However, taking a closer look at the ASET scope, I realised that there is this bigger blue area - obscured light, contrast (i circled it). I checked with JP and they assured me this has got nothing to do with quality issues. I find it an eyesore and intend to change but thought I should check here to see if anyone can advise me.. afterall he is going to pay so much for it, there is nothing wrong to feel this way right?

Other than that, I realised that the edge is not 'sharp' or 'pointy' (circled).
The issues I pointed are all visible in the different scopes.

Hello,

I went down to JP after seeing all you guys recommendations. Appreciate their effort to explain all the different aspects of diamonds even though I'm only a prospective customer.

Just want you guys' opinion on this, they quoted me as below:

0.44 G VS2 $2700
0.45 E VS2 $3050
0.46 G VVS2 $3100
0.46 F VS1 $3200

Does anyone have any idea what kind of carat size I can get if I ask for Ideal cut from HOH instead? Just thinking if it's worthwhile to up the size for lower quality cut. I'm not colour sensitive so F/G VS2 is fine.

Thanks

I assume your budget is around $3000? If you take an Ideal cut, I think the most you can get is around a low 0.5X diamond. Probably more worthwhile to get the super ideal.
