I think I mentioned this previously, but I really feel 1.2k for a 0.6 bump in carat is not worth it, even if it's within your final budget. You can consider reallocating the 1.2k to something else, a short holiday or a pair of couple watches perhaps?

i on the other hand believe in getting the maximum value my budget allows. after all the engagement ring is a significant token to me and i will opt to get the best item within my comfortable means..

my option would be to pick the 0.606, and even higher if it still remains within my budget.

to each their own i guess ;)

Aft wearing my ring for almost a year, sorry to say but size matters. That's the first thing most girls notice followed by the cut > colour > clarity.

Definitely, but i guess ultimately, what matters is the wearer likes it and is comfortable with it?

I personally am not very fussy with the size because of my petite fingers.

Yeah, I was having the same thinking as well. Maybe it will be better to allocate the money for other purposes too.

If the bump in the carat is much higher,I won't have to struggle between both. :s22:

Advice needed!

Hi all,

Getting an engagement ring for my gf. Need the advice of the experts here!
0.64 carat colour F VS1 triple excellent cut.

Is $3,950 for the diamond alone a good price?

Is this a super idea cut? For that price I would think its more of an ideal cut. The range for triple excellent is pretty wide..

Well then I guess you have your answer :) If you have trouble convincing yourself the additional weight is not visible enough to justify the price jump, then I think you'll be better off (and definitely happier) with the smaller diamond ;)

It's not from JP so i am not too sure. But here is the GIA report no. 5146657022.

Thanks!!

Its not an Ideal cut or Super Ideal cut. The proportions isn't too good and a very deep cut. End up the diamond might look more like a 0.5ct size.. Not really worth it IMO.

Hi guys, would appreciate some advice on this.. I'm choosing between the octagon and brellia diamond. I know my gf likes the brellia for sure. Her fren has a brellia diamond ring and she said she likes it alot and commented how shiny it is. I saw the octagon in JP and quite like it too. It seems more popular here too.

When I compare them, both diamonds are very very sparkly. Just that I find the octagon has abit more sparkles, probably because of the 88 facets against the brellia 57 facets. The movement of the sparkles is also faster when I shift the diamond.

This is the video I took.

Brellia

Octagon

Thing is, I also want the diamond to be different from her fren. My gf likes the brellia for sure and I think she will like the octagon too. I prefer to get something different from her fren and don't want to look like I "copy" her fren's diamond. Summore the carat size I'm getting is about the same.
Would girls think it like this? Would like to know have a girl's opinion on this...

This is the design I'm getting

PS. I was served by Dexter. Very professional and friendly guy.. Not pushy at all. He made the diamond education easy to understand for noobs like me.

Very nice video there. 1 vote for octagon cause of the unique shape and the shape stand out when compared with friends with the traditional round and other shapes which are common.

P.S. I am not the best person to recommend which diamond to choose because i have gotten an octagon diamond myself so i am abit biased towards that. Hehe =p

But the diamond is not for me. My gf would love to have a bigger carat though

personally prefer the brellia as it looks more posh. the octagon in same carat size looks smaller by comparison.

personally i chose the octagon, but you may want to consider checking with your gf on her preferences? i always felt the octagon to be more of a round diamond type than a square one like the brellia.. it may be your gf's preference to have a squarish diamond instead?

Hi everyone,

Have been shopping around for an engagement ring for my gf..
Came across this 0.77 E VS1 ex-ex-ex.
GIA 7228061189

Did an HCA score and gotten 0.9 score

Is $6800 a good price for the diamond alone ?

How was the scopes? HCA isn't everything. I saw a diamond with HCA 0.6 before but it looked badly under the scopes
