Yeah it looks much better on the finger haha. Maybe it was the angle of the photo on just the ring that makes the prongs look so big

Its a .57 stone. Maybe because of the taper band thus its has a deceiving effect:x

Looks quite similar to my SO's sister's ring, except she had a heart shape diamond in the center! Haha I thought the prongs had to be big if not you wouldn't be able to see the uniqueness of the heart shape prongs. Diamond itself looks quite big too  What size did you get?

Hi guys,

I see that the tips around the middle circle are uneven and slanted (circled in red). Is this something to be concerned about?

I think its fine. My octagon scopes is like that too. JP has the strictest criteria for their cuts. If its a concern, i'm sure they would not have accepted it already. Mind sharing your specs and design?

Finally gotten the ring from Jann Paul today, very satisfied with the service and support.

On a side note, I intending to propose in Japan. Any good recommendation? :)

When are you going/proposing?

There are a number of scenic spots if you are going in autumn, especially if you are going to Kyoto.

I am going next mth, and yes kyoto will be one of the cities I am visiting. Sadly it is not the autumn season.

Arashiyama for the scenery maybe? I think there's a part of the Kiyomizudera shrine which is dedicated to some deity of love, thematically fitting but considering the huge crowd which is always present, not very romantic...

if you are going to kiyomizu can see see this.

Jishu Shrine located above the main hall of Kiyomizu-dera, is a shrine dedicated to Okuninushi, a god of love and matchmaking. In front of the shrine you will find two love stones, which are 18 meters apart, and lots of couples looking to confirm their love. Legend says that if you can find your way from one stone to the other with your eyes closed (no cheating) you will find true love. If you unfortunately miss the stone then your desire for love will not be fulfilled. If you find the task too challenging, don’t despair, you can have help with someone guiding you to be successful in finding the stone. If you need help to find the stone, this means that you will find love, but a go-between will also be needed for you to find this love as well.

Yeah that's the one I was referring to. But it's always mega packed with tourists and schoolkids, kinda unromantic IMO. If it were me I would pick somewhere less rowdy.

Alternatively, could go in the other direction and pick something decidedly modern. Like propose in Disneyland/Disneysea! If your SO is the more youthful type.

Thanks for the recommendation. I was initially considering about Fushimi Inari Shrine as we only plan to visit Kyoto for a day. The schedule will be quite packed for us.

Also, my gf is not really a 'Shrine lover', wonder will it be weird for me to propose over there.

Yes I did consider about proposing at Disneysea but I think the crowd there will be super mega packed too

Not really. Disneysea is a lot less packed compared to Disneyland, and I can think of a couple of romantic spots. Can propose on the gondola ride, or after dinner at Magellan's, heck if you have the dough to splurge, book a suite at the Miracosta with the terrace overlooking the harbour. Confirm it'll be unforgettable lol

Thanks bro for your advice. But we have already me booking for our accommodation.

I think the idea of proposing on gondola ride sounds great. But I presume I won't be able to kneel down for the proposal. Hahha

Haha nope I don't think the operators will allow you to get up during the ride. I also suddenly remembered there is some garden maze, I think it's in Disneyland. That might be a good idea too. Its usually not crowded
