Hi Signalz, sorry i can't help you as i only researched on the round brilliants. But I think the price is about there? I vaguely remember someone saying his 0.70 Octagon with similar specs as yours being around 8000+ Not so sure if a jump in 0.06 carats would warrant a 1k increase though..

To other diamond pros~ can I check with you guys if JP's VS2 is considered eye-clean and good enough? I wasn't shown the inclusions but know that there's a cloud and a crystal via the GIA report.
Should I be worried? And would the locations of these inclusions matter?
Thanks!

my VS2 was eye-clean. It look me 2-3 visits and a lot of scrutinising before I could spot the larger inclusions under the loupe. Plus this was for a cloud on the table so I would expect other lesser inclusions to be even harder to see.

Hi, any comments on this two diamonds?
I am deciding between this two.
First is 0.45 Carat Colour F VS1 Super ideal
Second is 0.53 Carat Colour E VS1 Super ideal

I have a cloud too! but not so sure where exactly.. From my scopes i could see two faint dots on the right hand side in the heart scopes.

Yeah, diamond prices shoots up when it crosses the 0.7ct mark.

VS2 is good enough. JP filters their VS2s to be eye clean and they don't accept inclusions with durability risks. You should be fine ba

Hmm that's what I read in their blog too. But still a bit paranoid cos it's such an important item/purchase. Thanks for the reassurance! :)

I assume your GIA report doesn't have the inclusion plot. What does it say for inclusions? For VS2, the two faint dots are probably not the cloud, could be the crystal. Are the dots colourless or black?

VS2 also tend to have "unplotted" inclusions which are very minor - e.g. for mine, it says "Comments: Pinpoints are not shown". These come up as dots in the heart scopes, but can't be seen otherwise in the other scopes.

If you can't find the inclusions, why not ask the salesperson who served you to point them out? I'm sure the more experienced ones will be able to identify at least some of the inclusions. I understand your concern though because I felt that I couldn't commit 100% until I identified the inclusions and felt that they were acceptable.

I believe GIA report only have inclusion plots for >1.00c diamonds.

Not necessarily... Depends on what type of GIA report the jeweller paid for. But the GIA report with inclusion plot is more expensive so I think JP only uses it for the higher carat weight super ideal diamonds. I think they use the cheaper report without inclusion plot for the non super ideal diamonds >1.00c as well.

Yepyep my GIA report doesn't have the inclusion plot. It does however say "Crystal, Cloud."
The two faint dots are very light grey in colour.. On the 8 and 9 oclock hearts. Reluctance kindly posted my pics for me on pg 143. Would appreciate if you could take a look and give me your inputs?

You're right. Perhaps I really should head down again to look at the inclusions. Actl as long as it's eye clean and integrity not compromised I am happy enough. Guess I should wait for my rendering to be ready first before heading down? Just in case I have any changes I want to make to the design.

It would be the third time heading down though.. oops hope they don't find me too bothersome.

Used uob one.

Dbs has a debit card offering 5% cash back for wave transactions up to 50 dollar per month. Can check with jp if they have this payment method.

If time is not a concern, use the UOB one card. Every month you can make a 2k charge to your card for 3 months to hit the mximum 5% cash rebate. Only downside is you need to finish fully paying your ring the can collect.

dear diamond experts, 小弟 is getting married and the budget for diamond ring is around 2K to 3.5K only.
had done some diamond reseach, went to JP and have the diamond choices below. tho it's lower budget, but still hope to get some opinions here. the price for the diamonds is only few hundreds different.

1. 0.38ct VVS2 D (Solasfera)
2. 0.41ct VVS1 F (Super Ideal)
3. 0.41ct VS2 E (Super Ideal)
4. 0.41ct VS1 G (Super Ideal)

I'm struggling to make a decision on whether to go for Solesfera (nice cut but smaller) or Super Ideal (nice but not as nice cut as Solesfera but slightly bigger)..from naked eye..it looks almost the same..but 0.41ct is noticeable slightly bigger den 0.38ct..any suggestion on which should I go for? appreciate it !

I would go for the cut instead of the ct, the shine is different between the solasfera and super ideal. But that would mean paying a slightly higher price or sacrificing on the ct.
But again, if you really feel that the 0.03 ct is noticeable, then you can go for the super ideal, it will be slightly less pricey thus being able to get something bigger.
