Actually I also looked at everywhere already...

JP, WD, all the various brand name shops, Whiteflash, Good Old Good, James Allen, Bluenile, other pricescope recommended online retailers.

Spent countless hours scrutinizing scope images, comparing prices, comparing after-purchase service policies.

In the end I went back to the first shop which was JP :s13:

But I must say my decision was made based on several requirements, foremost of which was that I wanted a true super-ideal quality cut.

No la, not offended.
Just in case you somehow represent JP :s13:

I am just an independent forum participant. Saw many similar question about the value of a diamond, especially so for those who went to JP. So, to answer all brother's questions in term of the pricing (not value).
JP does charge a little premium for the work they do... maybe then, for those who read.. will know you not necessary pay the cheapest, but you pay for a certain guarantee quality.

haha no la, am just someone who used to check out all online retailers and then finally decided to go for JP hahaha.

Thanks bros for the advises. Now i have a peace of mind that i got value for money. I want the best for my future wife. I love her so much. I know even small diamond can suffice for her, its not really about the stone. I just want to give her the best i can afford given my limited budget. At the end of the day diamond is just a stone, your love for ur wife is more priceless.

Actually, my opinion, JP diamonds are mostly (almost tempted to say all) okay.
Just that there is a slight premium to it.

To source for good deal, JP is never a good place. They source for the better ones, and charge you premium for their efforts (fair enough).

How come JP is never a good place for good deals? I got a good deal from them just recently for my proposal ring.

Like their Super Ideal cuts, Octagons all also confirm plus chop best of the best. No need see scope images also can straight buy if you have the bucks haha.

By the way, this one how many bucks?

I see. Thanks for the info. Maybe I'm a little paranoid. Do you think there's a slight misalignment for the arrows and shafts at 5o'clock and 8 o'clock bearing? It cost around $4600 or $4700 (without setting).

Ehh bro? How come JannPaul is not a good place for good deals? I got a 0.74 E IF heart shaped diamond for my proposal ring at an extremely super ideal price haha. I am customising a Verragio setting.

What did u get? Cost? Mind sharing the picture ofthe ring bro?

I got myself an Ideal cut 0.62 E VS1 diamond. Here is the Idealscope image. The stone costs $3.9k.

It was placed side by side with a Super Ideal diamond, and even those guys at JP failed to differentiate the Super Ideal and Ideal.

The setting design is still underway, so not able to share. =:p

The arrows are perfectly aligned. Perhaps it is just the lighting of the photography.

Good buy, this is the kind of diamond which I refer to when I talk about "near super-ideal" quality. Very slightly off JP's requirements for their super-ideal range so you avoid paying the price premium, but chances are it will look just as good to the naked eye, especially when set into the ring.

Maybe those misalignment are only due to the angle at which the images are captured. If you are still doubtful, you can always highlight your concerns to them and go down to their shop to double check.

Hey Bro, mind pm me the price u got for tt diamond from JP?

No need PM bro. I will share the price here itself cuz nothing to hide mar since it is an extremely good deal haha.

I was quoted $4,100 for the 0.74 E IF heart shaped diamond. It has a L/W ratio of 0.90 which makes it look slightly plump. Previously I rejected 3 other heart shapes before settling on this piece haha. Really had the guy at JannPaul a run for his money haha.

Nice. What made u decide this over the others? I think their pricing is quite consistent according to the specs so it must be sth else right?

Yup their pricing is consistent. All four were in the range of $4,000 to $4,500. Since the sales guy is not familiar with heart shapes, he actually requested Paul to make a comparison on their ASET images and highlighted their differences for me. The sales guy then recorded a video of all the stones side by side to see their light performance under various lighting conditions. They provided their personal opinions on the scope images, shape of the hearts and the video recording, all which made my selection very much easier haha.

With all these wonderful services JannPaul is giving to their customers, I really don't mind paying slightly more for their diamonds.
