Yup super ideal :)
What do you think of the price?
I am new to this

If it is super ideal usually no need see the scope images also know liao the diamond is excellent. I am not really a fan of their signature cuts bro, so if you ask me for sure I will tell you it is overpriced haha.[/QUOTE]

Thanks! Well The salesperson from canary did not even follow up with me when I told them I'm heading to JP for a look.
I guess the super ideal must be a notch above the rest then :)
Yea I'm not sure if mine is overpriced within the super ideal range

would you be able to advise the acceptable price range for such diamonds? didn't visit any other retailers as well... so thought the price quoted was ok..

Price-wise, I am not sure cuz I am not a fan of their signature cuts so I didn't really make comparisons. Perhaps others can advise you.

The price depends very much on the size of your main diamond bro.

If the girl likes you, she wouldn't mind what kind.
thats what some guys says, and the female version will be 'if the guy likes you, he wouldn't anyhow get one for such a significant once-in-a-lifetime event :D:D:D:s22:

It's all about balance and how much you're willing to part for your future wife.

In comparison, customization of ring is cheap.
I heard, a complex design, max is around 1,000.
And now, that is where the diamond comes in. How much you want your diamond to cost?

This is exactly what I was talking about a few pages before.

Acceptable or not depends very much on your power of your wallet.

JP charge a premium for their diamonds, with good reasons (they do your homework for you). And others which could be similarly priced, are charging you premium for their marketing. And some, for their brands. And, perhaps some neighbourhood stores will offer better pricing (cheaper), but not necessary at this quality and this brand image.

I like to see diamond like those bespoke tailor suits. JP is good quality, quite indie, not the cheapest like G2000... or those out of the shelves. Could be priced similar to a Boss, or Armani Suit but do they (branded) fit you as well?
Well, there are neighbourhood tailors, you can go to them. They can be equally good, or maybe not? So what is an acceptable range for suits?
That will depend on your preference, I presume.

Budget for entire ring after customization is 3k-4k. I have no idea how big the diamonds are as I've never seen 1 before. Ring i want it to be full platinum as silver/white gold will turn black?

I guess just have to book appt to see it irl :)

Icic but i wonder how much for simple ring customization.

The most complex design would cost max $1,000 without side diamonds. With side diamonds I would say it will be in the range of $1,100 to $1,500. If you plan to have a simple solitaire it would cost much lower, maybe $800? I am talking about the setting here.

For the centre stone, I think House of Hung start from 0.3 carats onwards. The price also depends on how high you want your other 3Cs to be. With that said, never go lower than G colour VS2 clarity, and always check your diamond thru the scopes provided.

Its a good price, considering that it's a D color.

A friend of mine recently bought a 1 carat diamond, G color VS2 from a 'diamond wholesaler' for slightly over 10k (without setting), only to end up finding out that the HCA score was actually above 2 and it's bad.

Hi hi ppl, I went to Jannpaul ytd and was recommended GIA 5171932558.
Any opinion on this?

Thanks in advance

How do you see the HCA score?
It is slightly over 10k with the basic setting.

I think you got a very good deal.

For comparison, I checked the signature ideals on BN. This is the closest match they have.

0.81 D VS1
SGD 9,844 (after tax)
HCA: 2.3
http://www.bluenile.com/au/diamond-details/LD04770112

0.81 D VS1
SGD 10,799 (after tax)
HCA: 2.6
http://www.bluenile.com/au/diamond-details/LD01953359

Though I don't think this is a good comparison as their diamonds are inferior. Their HCA score is bad and not even in the ideal range. Not sure how this can be considered a signature ideal cut. Anyway, BN is not known for their quality but can give a pricing guide.

Yours is a super ideal cut 0.85 D VS1 for 10k+ with setting. If you include the setting, its already cheaper than BN ideals. Summore yours is a much better cut + bigger size.

Hi Linda, thank you for the valuable feedback. Much appreciated as your words reassure that I made the right choice :)

I am still not very sure in calculating the HCA score as I don't have the culet number.

Btw, how did you do the multi quote above huh?
Thanks!

With your budget I suggest going for white gold ring.

A quick comparison for you:
I got my ring from JP. White gold setting cost $550 (stock design), platinum would bump it up to $950, that's for the same design. You may expect platinum to cost about 180%(+) that of white gold.

Your customization idea of having a heart shaped fold on the ring is very easy to do with JP. Some of their stock design already come with this feature. My suggestion is head down and let them know your requirements. I highly recommend you to stay within their stock design at $550, and do minor design adjustment, if not too complicated they won't charge extra.

Don't take side diamond as it doesn't suit your budget. At 3.5K(+), you may want to try your luck for a G/VS2 (low-end Super Ideal) 0.45-0.49, get as close, but below the 0.50 carat figure. It might just happen for you.

I highly recommend the Super Ideal. It's value for money.
The brilliance no need say its super ideal use eyes can tell already.

Let me add another one to the list from James Allen.

0.85 E VS1
$9,150 after tax
HCA 1.3
