If they haven't craft yet, I'm sure you can still change (but of cuz price will subject to changes as per setting cost).

Nor exactly sure about 0.8 F VS2, but i remember 0.9 G VS2 is around 10500-11000 so i suspect 0.8x F VS2 could be 9-10k. The price jumps for higher carats will be more drastic as compared to diamonds below 0.7.

But well, diamond prices changes every few months so now it could be lower as i seen a fellow poster here got quoted for Solasfera which seems to be cheaper than 1-2 years ago.

*Prices mentioned are only diamond excluding settings

Wow that sucks then. Ive been wearing the ring for a few months already. Should have slept on the draft sketches first but we chose the diamond and ring on the same day. Didnt even wait for the wax model

Well, you can still check with them, however i don't think it's as simple as 'adding a halo', they probably have to re-craft the whole ring to ensure no durability issue, if this is the case, i don't think you will be paying for just the added material cost....probably u need to factor in their manufacturing, workmanship cost etc.....best u just check with them lor.

Collected my ring from Jannpaul :D

Workmanship is superb. I took some macro shots. It's quite tough to get the angle cause the Diamond is just very shiny too. You guys are right. It is quite big once it is set on a ring.

This is the diamond on my finger (excuse my hairy finger).Lol~ Its a Super ideal cut 0.61 carat F VS1. I was very worried with the size but now I'm not sure if its too big :s13:
I would like to commend JannPaul on their service, specially Casey, he was very calm and patient with me.. I changed my mind on the ring design until I also lost count. (I work before in a furniture shop so I can understand how annoying it is when customers keep changing their mind). So I can tell that they are really passionate in what they do.

My gf sister helped me chose a the white/rose gold combo. I think rose gold makes the ring stand out more. It still have that classic solitaire look and also looks expensive :). It also helps that she wears a rose gold watch.

I will strongly recommend Jannpaul. Their diamonds truly sparkles and their workmanship is fantastic. I dont think anyone else can come close to them.
Its just like house reno. There will be different quotations and its hard to judge the workmanship and final work. In the end, you get what you pay for. I found JP prices to be very reasonable to what they're offering.

Next up is the actual proposal. Anyone know where got nice scenary (like those in drama) to propose? I was thinking of doing the 'golden route' in Japan to see the Autumn leaves in Nov. Any suggestion?

The round brilliant cut is the same cut as any hearts and arrows round brilliant cut. Quality wise I have no idea.

The fancy hearts and arrows cuts are interesting though, maybe an alternative to the brellia, octagon etc but again, no idea on the quality of the cuts

Seems like it's simply applying the same 8 hearts and arrows concept on all various shape...I doubt the price will be reasonable tho.

Depends much on the other specs though.
Just sharing mine for your reference:
0.44ct
Colour E
Jannpaul Super ideal cut
Clarity VS1
HCA score 1.0

$2950 for diamond alone, setting price depends on the design (and also whether u want small side diamond or not), mine plain knife edge with 6prong $550

Jannpaul is local private jewelry shop, strongly recommend you to make an appt with them though, the SA will explain to you all you need to know about diamonds. Then u can slowly shop around LeeHwa SooKee all these and compare the specs and prices, and make decision. Jannpaul is not pushy for sales so it is okay to just walk off after the appt, they will still be happy to serve you if you finally decide to get from Jannpaul.

Went to JannPaul on friday to get my engagement ring. Just to share the price of 0.41ct F Super Ideal VS1 at $2600.

I end up buying an E colour same specs with a bit price difference. Need to wait one month for the ring to be ready. :)

I just checked their website, they have 2 category for ideal cut, one with a red star and one without.

The one with the red star simply means the HCA is good (Diamonds with very good HCA does not necessary mean it's super ideal, it can still be a normal average diamond unless it passes the ASET scope test). None of the diamonds provides any ASET scope, meaning to say, it's not super ideal.

I've randomly picked 2 diamonds to see, one of it which is under ideal and without the red star, gave me an HCA score of 5.3....which is horrible. Definitely a no no for this store, putting a 5.3 HCA diamond under ideal, lol.

Saw their website. Its not Super Ideal cuts. Its not right to base it just on the HCA score.. Summore I saw some of their Ideal cuts have very bad proportions...

I found the photo of the diamond you wanted on their website. It has a big black inclusion in the middle. In the photo, can tell that is has alot of light leakages too. Just compare it with the old photos of the JannPaul ones and you can see the diff already.
