Proposal Ring - Part 3

dear diamond experts, 小弟 is getting married and the budget for diamond ring is around 2K to 3.5K only.
had done some diamond reseach, went to JP and have the diamond choices below. tho it's lower budget, but still hope to get some opinions here. the price for the diamonds is only few hundreds different.

1. 0.38ct VVS2 D (Solasfera)
2. 0.41ct VVS1 F (Super Ideal)
3. 0.41ct VS2 E (Super Ideal)
4. 0.41ct VS1 G (Super Ideal)

I'm struggling to make a decision on whether to go for Solesfera (nice cut but smaller) or Super Ideal (nice but not as nice cut as Solesfera but slightly bigger)..from naked eye..it looks almost the same..but 0.41ct is noticeable slightly bigger den 0.38ct..any suggestion on which should I go for? appreciate it !

Collected my ring from Jannpaul

Workmanship is superb. I took some macro shots. It's quite tough to get the angle cause the Diamond is just very shiny too. You guys are right. It is quite big once it is set on a ring.

This is the diamond on my finger (excuse my hairy finger).Lol~ Its a Super ideal cut 0.61 carat F VS1. I was very worried with the size but now I'm not sure if its too big
I would like to commend JannPaul on their service, specially Casey, he was very calm and patient with me.. I changed my mind on the ring design until I also lost count. (I work before in a furniture shop so I can understand how annoying it is when customers keep changing their mind). So I can tell that they are really passionate in what they do.

My gf sister helped me chose a the white/rose gold combo. I think rose gold makes the ring stand out more. It still have that classic solitaire look and also looks expensive . It also helps that she wears a rose gold watch.

I will strongly recommend Jannpaul. Their diamonds truly sparkles and their workmanship is fantastic. I dont think anyone else can come close to them.
Its just like house reno. There will be different quotations and its hard to judge the workmanship and final work. In the end, you get what you pay for. I found JP prices to be very reasonable to what they're offering.

Next up is the actual proposal. Anyone know where got nice scenary (like those in drama) to propose? I was thinking of doing the 'golden route' in Japan to see the Autumn leaves in Nov. Any suggestion?

thanks for all the help. Just had a chat with JannPaul Sales team and this is what they offered to me base on my budget. Would like to hear recommendations from bros here which one will you all pick between the 4? was quoted 4k for a E vs1 0.51 previously but sold alr .

I came across 2 posts dated 21 Nov and 26 Dec 2013 from proposal ring part 2 that JP's definition of super ideal for star facet and lower girdle combination is 55/75 and 50/80.

However, the one that I have reserved (super ideal) is 50/75. Have their standards changed? Is there any impact on the performance of the diamond?

I came across 2 posts dated 21 Nov and 26 Dec 2013 from proposal ring part 2 that JP's definition of super ideal for star facet and lower girdle combination is 55/75 and 50/80.

However, the one that I have reserved (super ideal) is 50/75. Have their standards changed? Is there any impact on the performance of the diamond?

I just visited JannPaul recently and the proportion is 50/80. Is these 2 proportions useful as I got another cert that is AGS without any number for these 2 attributes?

I saw a few 2017 july diamonds last week

I asked my salesperson last week if the new shipment has arrived and he told me not yet. This week I called in to their shop and his colleague told me there are some new diamonds.

Not really satisfied with his service leh.

I do not know how does these 2 attributes affect the performance of the diamond. Hope someone can enlighten me.

I think 50/75 can still be ok. If it is GIA, I think they round to nearest 5% so the difference may be not as pronounced. As always, scope is final evaluation tool

The scopes look all right. But how come back in 2013 50/75 is only considered as ideal cut by JP?

0.52 G VS1 $3900

For your budget, I'd skip the super ideals and go for a bigger ideal cut. Ask them, they will have from house of hung's stock

Their ideal standard are well enough usually, but of cuz there are some perfectionist who doesn't mind paying more for maybe 10% more bling.

Agree with you bro. Got mine today. No regrets. Casey(the partner) did told me the one i chose is a near super ideal though. Frm wat i see in the scopes as well...
