Any idea what's the price diff between tiff and JP? Got double?

3450 is without setting. Definitely correct for ideal cut 0.51 carat - they quoted me via email.

A Super ideal cut 0.51 carat is around 4100+ and above

Hi, I am offered by JP with a .44carat, D, VS1, SIC, HCA 1.3 @ $3100/-. I don't really have much options unless I am willing to wait. I am looking for something under .5 carat. Just want to see you guys' opinion on this diamond or do I have a better option.

Don't really catch your question. It's really up to you what you're looking for, if you're ok with D, go ahead. if you want a 0.49/0.5...then just wait.

What is JP cut? Solasfera is not by JP, it's an international cut and i believe that JP is the sole distributor in asia.

Super Ideal and Solasfera are both different kind of cutting, it's up to you which would you prefer in naked eyes...Solasfera will have more but smaller flashes due to more facets and Super Ideal will be bigger but lesser chunks of flashes

sorry, haha cause duno how to spell the solasfera cut. now I know. haha.
that's why now I very hard to decide. more carats or better cuts. somemore price different is $100.
but for the price is it ok? somemore its only colour G.

It's not exactly a "better" cut per se, just a different cut.

At the end of the day it comes down to whether you/your SO likes small iridiscent flashes (like a disco ball) or larger flashes.

both the price is ok and reasonable? I feel like for $6200-$6300 like abit over le.. and its for colour G.

The super ideal cut represents the best of the best when it comes to brilliant round cut diamonds, and the solasfera is a patented designer cut, so you definitely have to pay a certain premium for these.

As for the color, it really depends on you. Some find G acceptable because they don't see any visible difference, some find G to be yellowish and would rather get F upwards.

If you are not dead set on getting either a super ideal or solasfera cut, do also consider normal ideal quality cut round brilliant diamonds. They may not have the same level of optical symmetry and light performance under a scope, but the upside is you can maximise the carat and color according to your budget

But to directly answer your question, I think the prices were around there when I enquired last year.

It's because you've chosen the 'perfect' cut which is not cheap. Getting a similar cut quality in other B&M stores in Singapore would set you back at above 10k, hence 6k is considered cheap liao haha.

Like mero mentioned, can consider ideal cut, 1 level below super ideal and some find that the differences is not significant hence can maximize the carat with the same budget.
