I brought my (now)wife to see what she was comfortable with.

She did not like G (but maybe we were shown a G that was closer to H?)

I did not like the G that I was shown either, but its all personal preference.

She was very comfortable with F though, which was what we got in the end.

Did you find the G to be obvious? When they showed me D and G, the difference is noticeable but not obvious. F and G, I couldnt see any difference le. Was the different very obvious to you? Or is it just me?

Anyway the size different is less than 10%, I'll go for D for the sake of 'best' color, that few pointers different in size won't sound as impressive as a D Color.

Btw is there any way to verify if the engagement ring diamond is same as cert? And also the ring (eg.14k) itself ?

It's a very bad choice to get a 'very good' cut graded diamond and also SI2....I will say the Ring probably only worth 1.5k to 1.8k max. You can easily get this grade of diamond from a reputable online store for 1.2-1.3k (excluding ring setting)

That's a Super ideal, all Super ideal will look exactly the same, there's nothing to comment on haha.

I believe Brellia is around the same price range as Solasfera (about 10-15% higher than Super Ideal), 16k sounds correct.

It’s their special cut like the Octagon, etc. Price should be about there. My friend just got their Super Ideal cut 1ct F VS1 for abt 15k. Yours is 1 color grade higher so shld be abt there

I've actually been following this thread for awhile but never created an account to comment.

I actually have quite a bad experience with one of the custom jewellery shop.

Long story short:
Boyfriend got ordered ring from there.
They offered one of their tester ring for him to propose since still making.
They told him I can buy the tester ring for a fee if I want keep.
Suddenly change their mind when my ring is ready to collect.
Insisting I return so they can have full set of tester ring

If I knew, I rather my boyfriend ownself buy a cheap ring to propose lah.
At least like that I can keep for memories sake.

Anyone got good recommendations for other custom ring shop in sg?
Luckily my wedding band I never custom order from them.

I'm looking to buy an engagement ring. So I'm now starting to do my "homework". May I know how much should I be paying for something like this? Or if I should even be buying something like this in the first place? I know there is no fix price. So a rough estimate will do. And if you guys have any suggestions to get a "better" value diamond, pls suggest! Carat and cut must stay the same. All else can be adjusted. Thanks in advance!!!

yea, very obvious for us when the diamonds from D to G were placed side by side, looking thru the side with white lights.

D - F can't really notice.

Anyway, again it is your comfort level. Also even though it is graded G, it might be closer to F or closer to H, every stone is unique.

Proportions are ok. Though you need the ASET scope to check the light performance. Good proportions can still have bad light return.

SI2 cloud is abit scary.. I will advise to bump the clarity to at least VS2. Cloud inclusions especially on SI clarity diamonds are known to to be hazy.

HCA isn’t everything. Can’t judge the price from there. It’ll be more useful if you share the certs and scopes.
