Went to JP with my gf last friday. I saw got afew couple like me also. so its normal to bring gf along :s13:

Joy attended to us. We later went to google her and saw that she got alot of good reviews herself. Quite lucky we managed to get her. She made the diamond session easy to understand and relaxed. My gf liked the Brellia diamond but they didnt have much stock left for it. They didn't have a singe piece in 0.6ct left. Only have some in the 0.5ct or 1 last 0.7ct left but in a higher color and clarity.

The next option is the Octagon. My gf likes the sparkles of it and can set the diamond in a more squarish shape by the corners. We just don't know exactly how it will look like.

Joy told us their next Brellia shipment will be in like 2-3 months times but they don't have a confirmation yet. We're not sure if we should get the Octagon or should we wait a few more months for the Brellia?

You can put a deposit to book the octagon first. Later if you change your mind, you can swap it to the brellia. If you havent tell them to craft your ring, your deposit can be used to changed to other diamonds.

Hi guys,

I have been reading through the postings here and the old threads and have also gone down to JP as well. I'm still wondering if I should get the diamond from JP or online, so need your help to help me see if the online quality is good.

For JP, the max i can get is around 0.34-0.35. For online, I can max it up to around 0.43-0.44. I have read some of the reviews and it seems that some people recommended Whiteflash. I have also check on another 2 which is the Brian Gavin and the High Performance Diamonds / Crafted by Infinity.

Attached the links to the diamonds below. All diamonds are from their top series. I have included the max carat and a similar carat to JP as comparison. Appreciate if you all can advise me if the quality is good or even as good as JP. Just replace the dots with . to get the website. Thanks.

Not all of their diamonds might be super ideal cut though. You can share the link with JP and also ask them about it. For all you know, they might have access to those diamonds and even beat their prices.

Yes, that's what Dylan told me so I was waiting for him to reply an email first. I just send the links to them. Btw Dylan was the one serving me though I don't really seems to see his name mentioned in this forum or their blog...

From what I know, those diamonds from A cut above by Whiteflash and the crafted by infinity is their own inhouse diamonds so I think probably JP won't be able to find them. But let's just see what they reply.

As for the super ideal cut, the specs looks like super ideal to me, which is why i'm asking opinion from the rest here since there are many who are more experienced in seeing idealscope and asetscope etc than me.

Cuts like A Cut Above usually range between ideal and Super ideal based on JP’s standard, to be honest, I don’t think you can really notice any significant differences between ACA and JP’s SI. Just that some people who are more an@l on wanting the ‘perfect cut’ will pay more for Super ideal (I’m one of the example hahaha)

However when you purchase from overseas, take extra note of the GST you have to pay after they shipped to you, finding a new jeweller to craft a setting for your diamond tends to also be more expensive if u didnt purchase diamond from them.

You also typically losses the chance to ‘trade in & upgrade’ your diamond if you purchase overseas as it’s not worth it to pay for a return shipment with insurance back to your overseas dealer.

There are pros and cons, if I only save afew hundreds dollars, I’ll rather purchase locally and eliminate the hassle and get the free after purchase care (free polishing, resizing, trade in)

Actually JP isn’t raved for wedding bands, it’s their high quality yet cheap diamond (based on quality vs quality price comparison).

As for their wedding bands, I think if you didn’t get your proposal ring from there, it’s generally not cheap, but I do believe that they will be more than happy to spend months of designing/customise your wedding band for you.

You need to check the quality and material too. The bands from Rio got hollow part in the middle. Those will make it cheaper too. The ones from JP are mostly solid unless you request them to do the hollow part too.

I found that JP bands wasn't exp le.. In fact it was the cheaper ones.
Both my bands total dmg was 1.3k

My bands also have the hollow part in the middle. Though they don't really recommended it because it can affect the longevity of the rings. But because of budget and I also want abit of diamonds, we opted for it to bring the price lower. If budget allowed, I would have gone for the solid band ones.

Do you mind sharing the weight of the gold? Cos i think the weight determines the price of the ring. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Hey guys, has been a lurker here for a while. Due to the raving reviews of JP here, I went down to have a look this week.

Was quoted the following prices:

Super Ideal
1.09, G, VS1 - 14.9k
1.01, F, VS1 - 14.8k

You reckon the price as reasonable? I'm leaning more towards the 1.09.

Thoughts please?

Yea, the gold weight and diamond size will determine the price. I'm not sure whats the exact weight, but i know the diamond detail.

Guys band
18kt white gold
20 small diamonds. Carat weight is 0.08ct

Girls band
18kt white gold
20 diamonds. Carat weight is 0.08ct

I will pick the 1.09 one. Its bigger and only $100 more. It will be more discernible than the F vs G color.

Really love the honey gold part but so expensive!

Anyway you still got 11months la can go hunting first. I heard rings take about 2months to be ready once you place order.

Depends how color sensitive you and your partner are. G is generally ok, unless somehow u can see the yellow tint then perhaps can consider the F

Hi guys, I received my grey diamond from JamesAllen! Their packaging is very nice and I even received a diamond holder clasp thingy (it's v weighty and solid) with my diamond.

1. I wasn't charged for GST, which is a relief as I admit I wasn't prepared for this potential issue when I made my purchase. There was a $100 charge from Paypal due to currency conversion from USD to SGD though, thus the 2.9k but in all together with the setting, the ring should cost approx 3.6k which is very reasonable for bb & I.

2. Here's some quotes from a few jewellers for a Tiffany setting, no pave no cathedral:

1. HOH - $700 for white gold, initially was quoted $1100
2. Ciel Jewels (good at coloured diamonds, able to quote me directly without asking diamond size) - $770 white/rose gold and $920 platinum
3. eClarity - $808 white/rose gold
4. The Jewel Box - $980 white gold
5. Les Precieux - $1200 white gold

I have the best impression of Ciel Jewels as they quoted me a reasonable price for white gold and platinum from the start. However we will also drop by HOH to look see look see since their quote is the lowest after the revision.

And here are the picture and videos!

Main specs: 1.27ct Fancy Grey diamond with Even Colour Distribution, Cut Very Good, Clarity I1, Symmetry Excellent. I can't see any flaws even after getting up close to the diamond, they were only visible on the JA website with the big zoom in. I do think that a Super Ideal colourless diamond will be even more sparkly provided you have the wallet and career position for it (it will be too AA/try-hard for someone in my industry & position lol).

Did they declare the actual value of the package sent to you? I remember last time when i shopped for something more than 400 SGD, the invoice for GST came a month later.

So don't be too happy yet :s13:....but i remember i did not bother to pay for it back (sent me over 5 letters) then when i was still 18 years old, as it was invoiced to me by DHL as they paid the GST beforehand and then bill it to me.
