Ytd I went down to Canary and they quoted me $5.4k for the diamond tgt with the setting.
Details of diamond:

E, VS2, Triple Excellent
Depth 62%, Table 57%
Crown angle 36 degrees
Pavilion angle 40.6 degrees

Anyone able to advise if this diamond is of a good cut? Appreciate it.

Hm, it's 1.09ct, G, VS1. - 14.9k

I had the choice of choosing a 1.01, F, VS1 for 14.8k, but i cant tell the color difference when i placed them both side by side, but definitely can tell the size difference. There's another diamond presented to me with exactly the same specs i bought but AGS certified. That, i can tell the color difference so that one was outright rejected. Even when both are G, i think the one i chose is on the higher end of the G spectrum, if there's even such a thing?

The crown angle is on the high side in 36 degrees. If I'm not wrong, when crown gets too steep, it will have light leakages. The photo you have is the arrows scope only and cant tell the light leakages. You will need the Aset scope to confirm it. The hearts scope will be useful too.

The HCA rates the light return and scintillation as Very Good only, which I think its due to the high crown. Other experts here might have better insights

for a diamond ring between 0.4-0.5 carat is it more worthwhile to get super ideal or the solasfera?

Hi all,

I went down JP and was quoted the following specs as per below:

Super Ideal cut
0.43 Carat, VS1, Grade F With setting - $3300
0.53 Carat, VS1 Grade F With setting - $4650 and $4550 for 0.51 carat.

Currently I am still waiting for the scopes, cert and HCA to be sent to me. Will share for more information once I received them.

Would appreciate for some feedback from folks here.

I was into non-cathedral all these while but I heard cathedral makes the ring stronger and holds up the diamond more, which helps the diamond look poppy even when paired with a band.

Iirc the staff told me that such settings quite high, so can make the diamond look bigger than it is. I wore it with a thin wedding band and it looked very prominent now. I kept gettinng questions asked about my diamond ring because the combination (wedding band + diamond ring) looks damn big on my finger.

I only know the rock some high end only jp have like
