My gf decided on the customised solitaire ring setting on 14 July.

Fonder Diamond informed me to collect on 27 July. Very fast! :D

I actually asked if I could see any samples that they have of rings in these settings but they don't have those with halo, only wedding band kinds I think have. In any case, Ranjit is away till end of month and bf wanna see the ring settings together but he prefers if Ranjit is around so we're waiting for him to be back before setting an appointment to see settings before I decide on my final design :) appreciate your thoughts/opinions still, if any! :D

Prefer the French Pave! Looks sleeker. The other looks a little clunky.

I previously got a 1.27ct grey diamond but until now haven't had much chance to wear it because I feel that I'm too young to be wearing it (due to size) and it doesn't gel with my normal personality (I don't like to stand out). 🙁

Thinking if I should send it back to James Allen to change into a 0.5-0.7ct white diamond and just call it a day 😂 it will be smaller but cuter too, I just want to look engaged not ENGAGEDDDD..

I think my fiance will :O if I tell him now so maybe next year hahaha

thats a unusual color

Hi all,

Does anyone have any local jewelers to recommend that can help with ring creation and gem setting? I plan to purchase my own gem (Not diamond) and would like to find a local jeweler that can help to create the ring.

Thanks!

Did ours at Ling Jewelry. We also bought a loose gem, not diamond. Heard some people say they are slightly pricy but I feel they have great design feel and do a very good job getting your customization ideas onto paper, then 3D, and finally the real thing.

Hi BlueArk,

Not sure if you remember me but yeah, you recommended me them but they rejected me. Did not provide a reason why...

Haha they almost wanted to reject me also cos they prefer to work with diamonds not other gems. Maybe when I went have a good chit chat with them we got some chemistry.

The other place I considered was https://www.morethandiamonds.com.sg/ Maybe you can check them out. Their main page says they happy to set for customers own gems.

Does anyone know jewellers who recraft rings with recycled gold (the customer brings the gold)?

I tried asking around but one jeweller told me they don't use recycled gold... but in USA it's a common practice as it's more environmental friendly and for remembrance by reusing the gold.

I'm toying with the idea of changing my ring setting 😂

Hi Snappy! Sorry to say, I haven decided on my final design yet. Can't decide between French pave settings or channel settings with milgrains. Wanna help me decide? Hahaha pics below (kindly ignore the milgrains seen on inner ring as I will ask to remove for the clean look.

Hmm if you go down to see the rings, or refer to images captured by others, I would say for the real one, white gold does look brighter whereas for the rose gold.. I dunno how to say.. It's a different shade? Slightly darker but well, shiny! My friends prefer one solid colour but I prefer 2-tone as above :)

Such a lovely ring design! Personally prefer the French pave setting, I feel that the channel setting with milgrain seems a bit dated but ultimately it’s what you’re happier with. I had the same thoughts about the milgrain on the inner ring as well and got them removed for mine. Mine is dual tone with rose gold as well to stand out but I really love it. So in the end it boils down to personal preferences. :)

Hello Smileedee12, thanks for the fast reply and sharing! One more vote for the French pave!
The colour of the ring in the pictures look more chrome, the final product should be in the normal white gold colour right?
I chose my diamond last month but can’t decide on the design and
