I saw JP's name on the HCA tool!! The inventor Gary Holloway endorses JP now?? Seems like they're getting more international.

I wouldnt be surprised. You see pricescope forum. Gary and the other diamond pros there got talk about JP's reputation too. The other jewellers they talk of is all US based.. JP is like the only commended one from Asia over there.

Maybe because of all their education materials and they did do some videos about the HCA tool and limitations too.

Collected my ring from jp! De diamond very blinding sia ... the whole ring took 5 weeks to make and worth the wait ... i show my fren and he also stunn lol.

this one is they take the video for me after i ask

den this is i take myself .. the video not as sharp but can see the sparkle v clear. the diamond is a 0.62 g vs1 solasfera cut. but i think her ring size i estimated too small ... now i dunno if i should ask them to resize it bigger first or just propose with it first then resize

Nice ring! Looks big too! Almost thought it was a 1ct diamond.

GX GX! No point to resize now if you dont know her exact size. Just resize it after you propose then bring her along to measure.

Thx. Ya, thats what they advised too. confirm actual ring size then resize and laser engrave together. anyone got experience bringing the ring overseas to propose? any issues in the airport or customs?

Preloved Tiffany & Co. engagement ring

Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place for this comment as I’m new here. I’m selling preloved T&Co. jewelries including wedding bands and engagement rings, all buff polished and authenticity is 100% guaranteed. Price is comparable to those from Brian Gavin, James Allen etc. Check out my listings at eBay or Carousell MyPrelovedTiffany11 :)

I went on down to JP this afternoon just to reaffirm that my diamond is not too yellow. We booked the diamond but haven’t got it crafted yet. We compared a .43 ct D with a .54 ct G. Both SIC. Mine’s a .52 ct G SIC. We concluded that from the front we really cannot tell much color difference from the naked eye but if we looked from the bottom of the diamond, we can see a slight tint of yellow from the color G. But it won’t be visible after mounted on the settings and who on earth will look at the ring from the bottom hahaa.

I’ve uploaded a few pic for reference. :)

The G looks darker. Is it just because your hand is blocking the right side? Then the photo really cannot see accurately.

Ohh I tried to take the pic but cos of the spotlights is very hard to take. So they use a file to block the spotlights therefore it’s quite dark hahaa.

But I guess each individual will have to take a look for urself in person. Cos some people are very color sensitive while some people like both myself and my bf we can’t really tell. And I don’t want to go over my bf’s budget so I sticked to G. Cos after all, after mounted on the settings it will not be that dark or yellow.

Collected my ring from JP :D :D :D

I upgraded my ring to a Super Ideal cut 0.52ct G VS2 with them. Vince served us and gave a thorough diamond education. At first my hubby say no need so much education since this is his second time buying a diamond. Then the more Vince explained the more we realised how little we knew.. lol. There is so much more than just the 4Cs. The certificate can only tells the basic information and there's actually a lot of things that the GIA certificate doesn't say. The first time my hubby bought the ring, he thought the Cut, Polish, Symmetry all Excellent is the best already. Back then, he only saw the hearts and arrows scope. Don't have the Ideal and Aset scope to see the light leakages.

My old ring is a 0.45ct D VVS2. According to the sales lady back then, she said this was an Ideal cut. My new JP ring is a 0.52 G VS2. I was abit apprehensive at first to downgrade the Color and Clarity since this is an upgrade ring which in my mindset is suppose to be a better ring. Then Vince showed me the difference for the Color and Clarity which I couldn't really tell. Then I learnt that what actually affects the brightness and colourful sparkles is not the Color but the Cut! When I compared the Super Ideal cut G color diamond with my old D color diamond ring, the G actually looked brighter and whiter! When I saw this, I was convinced that the Cut is way more important that the Color..

Another surprising thing I realised is the size difference. The 0.52ct looked much bigger than my 0.45ct. For 0.07ct diff, I didn't expect the size difference to be so obvious. It looked more like a 0.6ct to me.. Vince explained that the carat is the weight of the diamond only. For their Super Ideal cuts they are cut to maximise the carat weight so that it will look bigger. But of course cannot be too wide as well if not there will be light leakages. Me and my hubby was like "oohhhh..." haha.. Felt like students listening to a teacher.. :s13:

I had itchy finger and tried using the Ideal and Aset scope to see my old ring. The arrows wasn't as defined and I could spot areas of light leakages near the middle and side of my diamond. Which makes me wonder how do shops actually justify or prove that their diamond is really an Ideal or Super Ideal cut if they don't use those scopes?

All in all, super happy with my new ring :D We saved on the Color and Clarity grade and prioritised on the Cut. Didn't have to spend so much on the upgrade.. hehe

P.S. Sorry for the long post! :)

Digged out from old posts, managed to find one color G nearest to my specs. After mounted on settings, cannot really the yellowish tint. :)

Looks nice!! Putting D and G side by side is very harsh on the G since they have a few levels in between. Actually SG is considered very strict on colour, overseas ladies at weddingbee even dare to buy K, L 😂

Just a question - Is it normal to have the base of the black arrows being slightly asymmetrical? Quite obvious at the 12 and 3 o'clock position in this image.

I was being offered a selection in the same carat range, but also exhibiting similar traits.

To be honest i am really no expert and i dont think you will keep looking at the scope too.
Until u point out den i realise it.
But we already paid the deposit and my S/O likes the diamond too.
But if you find out more maybe you can share with us.

The base of the arrows is ok since it won't affect the light return. Just need to make sure the arrow stick and top head is aligned and straight while also checking the symmetry of the hearts in the other scope.

Looks good as usual for the Super ideals. Can't tell its a G at all man. Anyway their Super ideals are meant to be brighter than the average diamonds which can give the appearance that its whiter.
