I wouldn’t trust encharted diamonds cut score. It means nothing.

Here’s a cutscore of 100 with leaky ASET
If u did a HCA score on this, it would be under 2. Which tells you that a good HCA score is meaningless without ASET. Scoring well on HCA does not guarantee a good stone.

If u wanted comments, u could always post a link and someone will help u upload.

Here’s a side by side comparison with ideal from House of Hung.
The aset is not bad but symmetry is off. Would that bother you?
U can decide .... if I’m not wrong, that’s from White Dwarf?

Based on GIA cert provided symmetrical off ah?

From aset scope that I look is symmetrical la and i also did from the HCA calculation (1.4). It's my HP angle taking skill lousy? (Best effort to take through the aset scope pinhole Liao) Lol.

I was told this is an alpha diamond. Hence I went down to check it.

It’s not your photo taking skills.
It’s how anal u want to be with symmetry, just ask @Kinochoco
Gia certs won’t tell u symmetry

Thanks Miltah.
You truly very experience in diamond!
Work related to it??

Just wondering if not symmetrical can get HCA score 1.4?

Unfortunately not. Just an expensive past time looking at great stones.

The HCA is based on complementary angles and depth, which means there’s a potential for it to be a good stone. Note the keyword being potential.

Symmetry and hearts and arrows come from precision cutting. A good ASET does not always come with perfect symmetry of hearts and arrows. Therefore to be in possession of such a stone is considered top of the range.

However, based on your ASET, it’s not a bad stone. It’s just whether u can accept less than ideal symmetry

with diamond knowledge like yours it would be wasted that u are not in the industry. consider career change? haha

Thks for the compliment. I actually think it’s pretty basic.
We are only talking abt a modern round brilliant here. There’s so much other stones to learn such as mine cuts, transitional, old European to fancy shapes.

We know that a diamond isn’t rare, so how much of it is a created fallacy? How many pple can actually see the difference between a SIC vs a very good ideal cut? Even with symmetry, no one will notice you have a heart that is not perfect especially when mounted in the ring, u never ‘see’ the hearts anymore. Just arrows and that’s via a scope...

I’ve had this convo with @kinochoco, only the anal want the very best.

Career change? It would only be possible if u have access to the manufacturing or cutting side of things. Take a Zi-char stall for example, how can it survive if it doesn’t know the cook or the quality of the food coming out..

Symmetry is very off leh. Some of the arrows is totally disconnected and heavily slanted to one side. The hearts is merged with no separation. This is one of the scenarios where the HCA is not applicable anymore since it works on the basis that the diamond is symmetrical. The bezel part has lots of light leakages too. You're paying an Ideal cut price for a not so Ideal diamond. For that price, I think you're still able to get a better cut one.

Whats a Alpha diamond??

u don't find that kind of knowledge in most retail chain stores. they usually use more sales tactics to try and sell the diamond.

There’s a reason why someone whom are better in sales and marketing makes a lot a lot money more than someone whom had good knowledge but can’t market it as well as the sales guy.

Just take insurances, property and MLM agents for example, making millions per year aren’t impossible and they are usually less knowledgeable than those whom are specialize in the actual field/product 😂

sadly thats the hard truth. some times when too much info is shared, customer might back off and say let me digest the info and consider. on the other hand, when u start sweet talking, omit out some info and BS, they buy it :s22:

But the mark of a good salesman is being able to know your shxx yet only dish it out when it’s needed, dependant on the customers level of interpretation..
